I live in the Philippines and we recently concluded the election for new Senators.

Out of the 12 winners, 1 came from a family that stole wealth from the Filipino people, 1 was formerly a convicted felon on the grounds of corrupting government funds (was let out on bail just a few months ago), 1 is a police chief that advocated extra-judicial killings, 1 was the former presidential spokesperson that propagated lies and rape jokes, and another banned unlimited rice in restaurants.

Oh, and that police chief just said in an interview that since be won, he will now ask how to be a Senator. What the fuck.

Our country’s fucked.

‘Chismoso sa kanto’: Hilbay hits Duterte ‘bigotry’ over gay remark

MANILA – Former solicitor general Florin Hilbay on Wednesday slammed President Rodrigo Duterte for supposed bigotry after the latter branded him as gay and a “mistake” by God.
