hiyaa! would u ever write headcannons about kashimo not knowing how to comfort reader??
Kashimo trying (and failing) to comfort you   ૮ę°â Ë â ŕžŕ˝˛ęąá cw: fluff? note: haiiâŚ.honestly, this is so fitting for Kashimo, thanks for the request!!
Sooo⌠we all know our dear Kashimo isnât the most⌠sensible man. Heâs blunt and a little harsh. He is the God of Lightning, okay? Feelings and tears and sadness and fear are not things he wants to comprehend. Besides, anything that even points toward weakness is foreign to him. His whole deal is being unable to understand people because of his overwhelming strength and the resulting power imbalance.
What happens when heâs assigned to someone who is capable but has a low stress and pain tolerance?
Initially, heâs completely indifferent. Your knees are scraped up, you only cry because it hurts, not because youâre genuinely distressed. Kashimo doesnât acknowledge it. He keeps talking to you like normal while you wipe at your tears and nod along, trying to keep it together. Itâs not even awkward.
At some point, it gets annoying. Kashimo is forced to spend a lot of time with you, which means he witnesses all your weak moments. Your curled-up body on the worn-out couch. Your quiet sniffles. âCan you cry quietly?â âAre you done?â âGet yourself together.â âYou wouldnât make it through the week if we were still in my era.â Not very helpful, quite the opposite. You start retreating to the bathroom whenever you feel down, just to avoid his comments.
He feels a bit of guilt when he wakes up at night and sees you alone on the balcony, trying to fix his torn-up robe. Of course, his first instinct is to snatch the fabric away from you, grumbling about ânot remembering when he allowed you to touch his things,â but something about your silent effort makes him⌠not do that. He watches for a while, then decides to go back to sleep without making himself known.
When Kashimo starts warming up to you, thatâs when things get interesting. His first attempt at being nice is surreal, just odd and uncomfortable for everyone involved. He pokes (more like prods) your shoulder a few times. âThere, there.â He says it in the most monotone, unnatural lilt imaginable. The surprised, slightly confused look you give himâthose teary eyes and swollen lipsâmakes him snap his hand back like heâs been burned. âNever fucking mind, then.â
It becomes clear that the traditional way of comforting you doesnât work for him. He sucks. So bad. Everything he says comes out a little condescending, and sometimes he just makes you even sadder. âNo need to be so sensitive.â âCome on, youâre pretty strong for a second grade.â âAre you on your period?â Eugh. Obviously, he doesnât do hugs either.
Kashimo turns to the internet for help. how to shut up crying friend friend sad what to do how much crying is normal how to be less threatening apologizing tips comforting tips comforting tips for women comforting tips for women BUT IâM NOT ONE OF HER GIRLFRIENDS relaxing activities for weak people
What he settles on are subtle actions. You might not even notice at first. He gives you the last bite of his onigiri. Gets himself your favorite soda, just in case you want some. Sits down with you when you cry. He doesnât say anything, he just waits, and somehow manages not to speak the entire time.
His clothes start getting torn up more often. Kashimo acts like itâs an accident, but really, he just wants an excuse to let you work on his robes, so you can feel useful to him. You already are, even without the sewing, but he has a hunch you donât feel that way. So yes, Kashimo pretends to need your help to make you feel better.
âYouâre kind of nice to look at when you cry.â That does not come off the way Kashimo intends. It sounds like he enjoys your suffering, when all he means is that youâre pretty like that. Itâs supposed to be a compliment. He never says anything like it again. It was stupid of him.
And finally, the most embarrassing little thing he does for you. He makes sure neither you nor anyone else ever sees him doing it, because itâs so wildly out of character. He puts his hands on the edges and corners of furniture when your head or hips are nearby. Kashimo has seen how goddamn clumsy spatially challenged you can be. Every time thereâs a cupboard, a drawer, anything sharp in the way, he wordlessly reaches out and places his palm against the hard surface. He tells himself itâs just to prevent one of those crying fits of yours. If you ever catch him doing it, he will probably commit seppuku.
