Looking up again when she mentioned Miss Mead, he was surprised the lady would do something like that. Sending someone to look out for him when she knew who he was. He was the antichrist and the world was supposed to shiver by hearing his name. “She did what?” he asked confused. “How could she do that? She died. I saw it. Witches burned her. And I’m going to burn them.” he spoke, anger in his voice. He knew it wouldn’t be so easy but he would try anything. And there he went on, giving her a hint of what he was planning to do with this world. 

“so,” michael sits at the desk, leaning back comfortably in the chair as he stairs at  the blonde woman in front of him. “why do you deserve a place at the sanctuary?”

     compliments    feel    like    bullets    -    a    harsh    reminder    of    how    shallow    people    are.    if    only    they    could    see    the    underneath    ,    the    scars    that    cover    most    of    his    now    -    clothed    skin    ,    his    rotted    state    of    mind    .

Star's eyes followed where Ava pointed. After some moments of quiet contemplation, she left the other girl's side and ventured over to her bed that was in her own corner of the cave. It was a comfortable bed with silk and lace bedding that clashed with the rest of the random and often macabre decor the boys chose for what used to be a hotel lobby back in 1906.

Bending down in front of the bed, Star reached underneath it and after a brief search with her fingers, she grabbed what she was looking for and pulled it out. It was a well-worn leather suitcase, one of the few reminders she had of her old life. She popped it open and after pushing aside some spare clothing, she produced a travel sized sewing kit.

After tucking the suitcase back under her bed, Star made her way back to Ava, where she asked, "Do you want me to sew the patches on? Or do you want me to show you how to do it?"

Theo didn’t hear her approach, leaning over the balcony looking out over the living area. As far as he could tell, everyone was asleep, Venable and Mead were in their offices and frankly he couldn’t give two shits if anyone caught him up at this hour. Sure, he was just a grey but he seemed like the type that should have been a purple.

Proven by the fact that he had a cigarette between his lips and was smoking it. He turned when he heard the voice.

There’s an instantaneous frown accompanied by brooding eyes when she conveys her displeasure at the idea he might want to eat her. It’s a buzzkill, really. Without fear, there’s really no point, it’s similar to a great spice in its own right and most people are just fucking bland. 

Eyes widen at the sudden hostility. Honestly, it wouldn’t be a surprise if she felt threatened by how much he was staring. Or maybe she could just hear his stomach growl and made her own assumptions as to what sort of sick freak he was. The answer: the sort that never stopped eating when he could get his hands on someone delicious. People weren’t a delicacy he was often afforded, with exception to a short time after his initial summoning.

“ Sorry, I don’t fight unless there’s promise of a meal afterwards. I’m just so…HUNGRY. ”  An awkward pause.  “ You smell good. ”  Did he mean ‘nice’? No.
