I gotta wake up in 4 hours but no one talk to me, I just watched Haider (2014) and I am complete. Brainrot worthy movie and I want to kiss the director. I liked Omkara but Haidar was it for me. Yet to watch Maqbool.
Haider-Vishal Bhardwaj
Dil ki agar sunu toh tu hai… Dimag ki sunu toh tu hai nahi. Jaan lun ki Jaan dun? Main rahoon ki main nahi?
FILM: Haider (dir. Vishal Bhardwaj)
I can fix him.
watching Hamlet so I can watch Haider

Best Shakespeare Adaptations Tournament
THE BRACKET!
the final round will begin soon!
all tournament related stuff, including the polls, will be under the tag 'tournament'.
"what is 'best'?" that's up to you, but what i'm hoping for is people judging more on individual quality rather than accuracy!
lineup
According to my letterboxd, I have seen exactly 600 films. And in my two decades of existence, I forayed into the world of Vishal Bhardwaj only 2 weeks ago. Within those two weeks I watched Muqbool and Haider. While Maqbool is a masterclass in performance, by literally every single character, Haider is storytelling at its finest.
The mehnat poured into this adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet is so palpable to the viewer. Performances are always top notch in a Vishal Bhardwaj film, of course, if it's a Vishal Bhardwaj film, nothing short of top notch would suffice. The grip this 2 hours 30 minutes saga had on me. When there is absolutely no confusion on part of the maker as to what they're after, that belief and clarity permeates through the screen, drawing you in.
A story so potent, backed with the utmost conviction of all the actors and the brilliance of Bharadwaj saab is bound to leave its taste in your mouth for days afterwards. Also, the reason this adaption is so flawless क्योंकि विशाल जी नें कहानी की नब्ज़ को इतनी बखूबी पकङ कर परखा है, समझा है, that there was so confusion in how it would fit the Indian context.
In conclusion, nothing can beat Irrfan sir's cameo as Roohdaar.
