For the month of November, I’m not officially participating in NaNoWriMo, but I’m going to attempt to write daily to continue the first draft of One Siren’s Soul, no matter how small the word count. My aim is to write at least 400 words a day!
Word count today: ( 1,532/400 )
Snippet from today’s writing:
“That’s alright, Little Cloud. We have to take this slowly. Your mind is fragile, still.”
I was far too tired to attempt to decipher what that meant, so instead turned to discerning where we were. What had happened.
Where Phoenix was.
If she was safe.
My efforts were blocked by the fort’s walls. The door was just a few feet away, silent aside from the patter of the downpour’s assailing, no more wind to rattle it against its hinges. He had brought me inside.
“I… I thought it would be better for you if… if you were brought out of the…”
“The rain.” He winced. Ironic, considering that’s normally what I would do. But I only felt empty, now. Numb, except for the burning pain lacing my lungs.
“Y-yesss…”
“Is Phoenix alright?”
He winced again. I squinted, curling myself to sit forward against a gasping pain, propping up on my arms.
“N-no please don’t move, your wounds need time to heal naturally too they can’t--” I left his warning unacknowledged, the rush of his words only spreading his own worry through to myself, but for an entirely different reason. He hadn’t answered my question. “--You’re going to end up tearing the skin, the pain is not going to let you--H-how are you even moving right now!?”
Notes: That uh. That was a pretty major plot important part I wrote today, folks. I didn’t hit the official Nano word count but I honestly think I like how the more effort I put into this one gave me a better quality (or so I hope), so. Not discontent with that.
Hey, new character! Maybe. Anyways. Someone’s stubborn.

So as not to spam people, I’ll be appending my taglist to a weekly compilation post where I’ll link each daily update~
Rakan had perched himself upon a rock, his claws delicately working at vines that he had salvaged. Twisting and turning the material into what appeared to be a growing crown. Each twist and weave was with precision, surprisingly the vastayan was focused on a task. His brow furrowed with concentration as his taloned feet tapped idly on the hard surface of the stone. What had arose from his throat was a soft hum, he was starting to get off track. At least it lasted as long as it did, but even with the song rising in his being he was still trying his best to focus on his small art project between his fingers. Careful not to let his movements interrupt the delicate procedure.
‘She's resplendent, so confident
La Seine, La Seine, La Seine’
The fingers continued to work, following the beat of the hummed song, his talons making it easier to weave the small vines between each other. Like needles poking through the tiniest delicate strings.
‘I realize, I'm hypnotized
La Seine, La Seine, La Seine’
A flip of the growing ring, to the other side now as he plucked another vine from the pile to start the pattern once more. He paused to bob his head enjoying the small tune that had now taken his mind. A soft smile appearing upon his face as he now continued his work, managing to free himself from the trance. But it didn’t stop him from continuing the song.
‘I hear the moon singing a tune
La Seine, La Seine, La Seine’
Now flowers were being added to the ring, his talons snipping off bit and pieces that had found themselves prickling out of the otherwise almost perfect crown.
‘Is she divine, Is it the wine?
La Seine, La Seine, La Seine’
His song had suddenly stopped, hand bringing the crown up to his head to measure it. The decorated beauty now resting in his feathery hair he took out his pocket mirror, flipping the golden lid up to view himself. His head turned from side to side admiring his work, finding that some pieces were actually done very well. He actually almost shocked himself that he was able to focus for such a long time!
His free hand continued the work as the crown rested upon his head, fixing whatever he found imperfect to the dark purple circlet that he had crafted. Once satisfied he took it off carefully, holding it next to another crown that was made with bright orange fauna. A smile growing on his face as he had hopped himself off his perch, his feathers swinging gracefully across the thick grass that had cradled his feet.
“ I feel alive when I'm beside
La Seine, La Seine, La Seine
From this angle like an angel
La Seine, La Seine, La Seine”
The hum had burst to a song, his voice melodic and beautiful as he continued to the next verse, ignoring the chorus.
He placed the crowns upon the rock, dancing with himself in the small opening he had chose, feathers swaying delicately through the air as he pretended to dance with a partner. The soft glow of his orange plume lighting up the area as he hummed to himself the rest of the song. For being alone, he found comfort in knowing that someone was waiting for him. He knew she would love the gift.

first of all i wanna say @krossan hOW DARE YOU. all of this cute Dan and Jazz sibling stuff is k i l l i n g m e. So i wrote this little one-shot to vent the feels
second of all i blame @phantomtype for pUTTING IT ALL ON MY DASH and i know youll appreciate this
so here we go ;;^;;
Fandom: Danny Phantom
Pairings: Jazz Fenton & Dan Phantom (sibling) now dubbed Sibling Therapy
Rating: Gen
Warnings: None! It’s super fluffy
Summary: Jazz has been trying to rehabilitate Dan for a long time now and she's very close to thinking she'll never succeed. But then there are times, like this, that give her renewed hope. Her (big) little brother can be rather cute sometimes, after all.

“Jasmine.”
Jazz looked up from the book she was curled up and reading on the sofa with, and noticed the bulky ghost taking up most of the doorway. Dan stood there with his standard form, looking petulant. Her not-so-little (half?) brother almost always was though, so she didn’t worry too much about it.
(But yet she did, because truly, what did that mean for his psyche? She was trying to rehabilitate him and while he wasn’t evil anymore, necessarily, he didn’t seem happy either. And that’s really what she wanted most for him. Yet, he stayed so stubbornly grumpy all the time she was almost beginning to give up hope. Almost.)
“Daniel.”
His frown turned into a disgusted sneer, “Don’t call me that,” he muttered, “that’s not my name.”
She smiled at his childishness, though it was slightly strained (she wouldn’t ever have her Danny back now would she? But- She did have Dan, and she refused to believe he wasn’t good enough).
“You started it, Dan.”
He pouted and didn’t deign to answer before slinking into the room, shoulders slumped and menacing aura subdued for once.
Jazz was slightly startled when overly large ghost flopped gracelessly onto the couch beside her, moving her book away from her lap so he could rest his head there. He didn’t say a word and wouldn’t look her in the eye, but that didn’t matter to Jazz. He was here and he was demanding comfort from her, demanding affection.
Jazz’s face lit up with a dazzling smile before she hid it behind her book. The progress! She was so happy for him! And, if she was being honest, it was nice to have the simple sibling connection again, even if it would never be the same as it had been with Danny. But maybe it didn’t have to be. Dan was his own person, separate from Danny; he was stubborn and mean and irritable, but he was still her brother. She could find just as much comfort in Dan as she could offer comfort to him. It felt nice.
Dan closed his eyes and turned his head with a soft, “Hmph,” facing the rest of the living room.
He was so much like a grumpy old cat, refusing to acknowledge that he wanted to be showered with affection, that it made Jazz want to giggle. For a supposedly evil and rather huge and intimidating ghost, Dan could be quite cute at times.
Jazz lowered her book and went back to reading, moving the tome to one hand as she carded the other through Dan’s flaming hair.
She felt the man stiffen at the touch before relaxing back without saying a word. Eventually she felt him nudge her hand ever-so-slightly in a feint of subtle encouragement. Her smile softened and she continued to pet the ghost (cat) resting in her lap. Definitely cute.
A quiet afternoon atmosphere settled into the room. Pale sunlight gently filtered through the windows, basking the two siblings in a soft glow. A clock on the living room wall ticked out a steady beat, the only sound in the room aside from the occasional turn of a page in Jazz’s book.
It was idyllic and sweet, and a moment the both of them would cherish for a very long time.
