it's also interesting because we SO RARELY get any impression of how vash interacts with his sisters. there's really just the "hey... sister" moment from the sand steamer arc, then the "i have seen the dead plants" line from the vash & knives confrontation pre-Ark.

then all of a sudden, at octovern, we get such a distinct impression of how the plants view him! not only with "red brother" but also -- vance's whole speech regarding how "a memory of him lingers within every plant" and the panel where he's shown holding a bottle of alcohol nearby. sidenote, vance's speech also makes clear that the plants DO know vash's name ("vash the stampede"), so "red brother" isn't for lack of him introducing himself.

it's very sweet. they clearly love and respect him, just as they do knives.

Also... Lapi's new outfit! The hood plus how she is all covered!!! Is that meant to represent her current mental state? Unlike her Canon outfit after her reformation, this one feels more of a "hiding" mentality, with the long sleeves and hood.

Hehehe yess thank you for noticing. >:) There are a lot of little details here that I'm thrilled people are catching on to.

And yes, Lapis' entire look is meant to be more closed off, hidden, etc. Even her skirt is longer and tighter, her sleeves are fully down to her wrists, etc.
