I don't know how, exactly, but Grimm doesn't have a master manipulator bone in his body outside of Chae-a (she's a huge softy when it comes to him, and usually it's less manipulation and more him being upfront with what he wants) and all the emotional damage he deals to Yunsu (which again is less calculated and more his genuine feelings towards things the other's done). Our baby boy tries so damn hard to be a Machiavellian vampire, spent half a century around Yunsu, and somehow still fails at every deception check. And now he keeps on trying to pull off one of his dad's tricks, like will this work? What about this? Does this? How about this?
