“Dinner’s done.” Richard grinned as he handled the very much full glasses of wine, careful not to spill anything on his couch or carpet as he sat down and offered one of them to Hades. “This is the night I was looking forward to.” It had been quite some weeks for the two of them, he was glad they could finally have a night for themselves. “Now, if you really want to get frisky tonight; may I interest you in my vast board game selection?” He teased before taking a good sip of his wine, licking the taste off his lips.

Hades: This is not a joke, I might go crazy here.

“Out of all the weird, corny events this town has pulled off... I gotta say, this is not half bad. Though I could forgo the whole blessed by our god Yanni vibes.” He mused in a light voice, his mind automatically going blank at the sight of all the symbols and bizarre terms. “I think I’m a water sign.” He shrugged, looking at the man with a smug smirk. “Besides me –obviously, anything else catch your eye around here?”

“I knew most of the people you worked with were idiots, but I would’ve thought the administration had a couple neurons to spare.” Richard spoke once the call finally connected, trying his hardest to ignore the hard lines his worried frown was placing all over his face. Out of all the worst-case scenarios...

“Are you sure you want a room at the hotel or may I interest you in an apartment? Someone over there owes me a favor and they just told me they can let you in as soon as you tell me you’re ready. It’s not to far from Park Güell and you’d have it all for yourself.” As Dick finally breathed, he realized he hadn’t even greeted Hades. “Hello, by the way.” He shot the man a comforting smile. “I’m sorry I’m not there.”

Richard smiled at the guests that gathered in neat circles all over his lobby. He didn’t think his last win would have such an impact on the firm’s shareholders, but as both Benjamin and Walter had made him realize, it was a cause for celebration...and he certainly was a man who could never say no to a gathering where the main subject was his success.

He took a sip of his champagne, taking his phone out of his suit jacket to send a text before any of the older attendees tried to rope him into another conversation about a merger he certainly did not care for.

Richard: Your drink is getting warm, Hadey.

Richard: I never realize just how boring these people can be until I actually have to ask about their personal lives.

Richard: They’re offering us a timeshare. Please get me out of here.

He smiled to himself. Although he knew his partner already had told him he would be a little late, Rick still was full of eager impatience. The only other thing he liked more than having a reason to celebrate, was having Hades to celebrate with. Wondering how he could kill time before his desired company arrived, the choice was taken away from him. A tall, brunette woman strided towards Richard with a decided look on her face.

“Looking dapper, Mr. Dorsey”

“Theresa?”  He didn’t care to mask the slight surprise in his voice, it had been years since he last saw her. “I didn’t know you were coming tonight.”

“And miss a chance at you? As if.” The woman smirked, leaning forward to press her lips to Richard’s cheek; leaving a faint rouge stain that he took no notice of. “So, what are we congratulating you for this time around?”

“Everything.” He smiled back, handing her a glass of champagne.

Theresa chuckled as she clinked her glass with Richard’s, winking at him as she spoke. “Very well, then. I’ll throw you my personal party to celebrate once we’re done with this one.”

Right on cue, Dick saw Hades entering the venue; grinning at him without seeing the expression on his face. “Sorry to break it to you, Reese, but I’m spoken for.” He signalled his head towards the newcomer. “Hello, dear.” He was completely unaware of the woman’s slight sneer at Hades.
