Alright so after having looked through hypnos’ new design I have something to say. The poppies.
So I’ve already seen someone post about this ( @blamethecows-draws ) and yes!! Poppies do symbolize his son, but they are also closely related to Hypnos himself. Now I’m not sure how they were in terms of Ancient Greece (unfortunately my Ancient Greece knowledge is shaky at best), but I am aware of this particular painting from 1874: Sleep and his Half-Brother Death
In this painting, Hypnos (depicted closest to the audience) holds a few poppies in his hand. Poppies, to my knowledge, were flowers that symbolized not only him as a god, but also death (hence why Thanatos is there too)
What’s interesting, though, is that poppies also symbolize a hope for a more peaceful/calm future. I think that this potentially could tie into the whole PLOT of the game, which is trying to take down the calamity that Kronos has caused
So tldr: poppies symbolize death, the God Hypnos, and hope for a calm future, which is kinda the whole plot of Hades II
I love Melinoë so much but GIRL
(Haven’t passed the second area boss yet don’t spoiler me :p )

Been a while since I’ve posted stuff. I’ve been doing smaller drawings without being concerned about how much time I’ve put into it. I tried not to focus too much on the details of it being perfect. But have some hades 2 art bc I love this shot of Melinoë <3

Hades 2 ending explanations, theories & Hades Trilogy
One thing I realized is that the Hades 2 ending is similar to the first game's ending with the original task not actually happening, in Zagreus' case it being escaping the underworld and defeat his father which quickly turned into a get your mom back and fix relationships with everyone including your dad with this being a similar case though definitely more out of nowhere unless there's now more dialogue that hints at this at the game's full release.
Another funny thing I thought about when the full game was released is how Zagreus wasn't nerfed, what I mean is that in most superhero movies powerful secondary characters that crossover or are just powerful tend to be nerfed in some way just so the main hero can defeat the bad guy, but despite melinoe being the main character, zagreus ability to fix relationships wasn't just ignored for some reason just because he isn't the main character, it still applies as well as the first game's message.
the last thing I wanted to say is that while I think it will be a while, I'm pretty sure that Hades 3 will in part conclude the trilogy. basically imagine each game that while they all work as their own stand alone story are all technically part of a trilogy with the beginning (Hades/Zagreus) - Middle (Hades II/Melinoe) - and end (Hades III/Makaria) which is even so fitting if you think about it, Zagreus is blood, life and rebirth (=Birth, Beginning), Melinoe is ghosts, basically a transition or journey between life and death as well as a duality deity (=Living, Middle) and Makaria is blessed death, specifically for those who has truly accepted it or needs the sweet release of death (=Death, End) or if you take into her connection to the blessed isles a place you can only reach if you have earned Elysium THREE times after being reborn while she would have the THIRD game of the series... get what I mean?
