I don’t have anything written for it that I’m gonna keep because I changed the timeline, but it goes like this:

After choosing to return to the first games, Gihun wakes up not in the player dorm but in a cage.

Ilnam is there and explains he has someone he wants Gihun to meet; he reveals who he is.

Ilnam gives Gihun to Inho, who in this AU has only been Frontman for a few games, and has been giving a lackluster performance of it so far as far as Ilnam is concerned.

Ilnam instructs Inho to train and break Gihun so he can be a source of entertainment for the VIPs. Ilnam wants to further break Inho through this and see him lose what’s left of his humanity.

Inho in this fic used to be a police dog trainer, so we’ll see a lot of specialized knowledge from my own profession as a dog trainer/behavior consultant which I’m excited about :3c

Inho ends up sympathizing with Gihun, who immediately clocks how uncomfortable he is in his role.

They watch the games together (it’ll be the s2 cohort, not the s1 cohort, because I need Hyunju to win) and see the cruelty Ilnam revels in

When the VIPs arrive and Gihun asks Inho to help him exact revenge upon them, he says yes.

It’s still largely in the idea phase and I’ve forbidden myself from starting it until I’ve finished Gihun’s Game, but it’s fun to think about!
