I found out talking to some randos on the tram this year that the student clubs sell patches in the big Vappu horde...I mean party in Kaivopuisto. (I didn't go to university here so I don't know these things.) Since the traditional geocacher meetup didn't happen this year (logistical limitations; the time slot was taken by something else) I spent my time going around looking at those. Only ended up buying 2 though. I'll sew them on for next year.

I was wearing my badge scarf/stole today (lots of students out and about with their overalls on selling Äpy, etc., and btw I really need to take some new pictures of the outfit) and some random lady at the train station pointed to it and was like "what's that??" and I started my spiel about how Finnish students have this badge collecting thing blah blah and didn't realize she WAS Finnish and was actually asking about the scarf itself.
