Chassis number: GBT37 - Registration Number: GX41 Was ordered new by Captain Woolf Barnato whom was residing at 50 Grosvenor Square at the date of order. Barneto was a wealthy businessman, racing driver, and three times Le Mans winner each time at the wheel of a Bentley, a member of the Bentley Boys, and also subsequently owner of the company. The car was carefully specified by him to include a number of non standard features such as a 2" wider then standard dash board, 5 1/2" longer bonnet and very personalised instrumentation to the dash board The Rolls-Royce 20/25 is the second of Rolls-Royce Limited's inter-war entry-level models. Built between 1929 and 1936, as a replacement model for the Rolls Royce Twenty. The target market for the 20/25 was the same as the Twenty – the luxury, owner driver market. Developed under the project name Goshawk with its primary goal of increasing power and performance, that had been eroded as the Twenty continued to get heavier. The new 20/25 model was debuted at the 1929 Olympia Motor Show the 20/25 came with a larger 3,699cc straight six engine with overhead pushrod operated valve, separate cast iron block and aluminium crankcase with detachable cast iron 6-plug head, 7-bearing crankshaft with vibration damper. Pressure fed lubrication with relief valve feeding rocker shaft and timing gears. Body styles were dependant on customer choice of coachbuilder.
