even with no lungs to take it in, the dust - laden air of parts and service settled in the hollow of the marionette's chest as heavy as an anchor. the gift - giver was no longer meant to wander, not since that dark, stormy night so long ago now ; it was not meant to be back here, but she was here with a purpose, even if the rust and rot that made it's home behind that creaky old door stirred a bruised kind of sadness, deep in the circuits her spirit resided in. she had no more tears to shed, not for her friends nor even herself, only a tired ache at her core. but she was here with a purpose.
