either the projectors are physically attached to the lab or they just dont have the time/expertise to make them operate outside of the lab, or maybe there's just no way for sq to "live" in them due to being eccentro-mechanical. so at first it seems like sidequest is trapped in the lab permanently until they realize. wait they have mobile units able to store and preserve a EM.

and talos downloads sidequest into their own body. talos specifically because they have a large amount of normally "unused" hardware for DDOS attacks that can be repurposed into brainware.

even BETTER if talos doesnt agree to this willingly. sidequest pretty much strongarms them into it because sq is NOT going to be left behind, and if talos doesnt let them in they're going to cram themself into Lockjaw. since lockjaw doesnt have the hardware to support two EMs, sidequest would put LOCKJAW into the lab's system. and if that isnt enough lockjaw's body is a weapon fitted with a flamethrower and while lockjaw is a pacifist sidequest is very much. not.

been thinking about nulls design a lot lately and i think i want to update the hands a bit. ive been slowly altering nulls design to be more "practical" over the years since the design was originally made BEFORE the context. i wanted to make his hands more paddle/shovel-like without loosing the old silhouette entirely and without altering the finger number, which is an EXTREMELY important detail i do not want to ever change. this is a bit of doodling to figure things out

first one is a completely new design, leaning fully into the more mole-like shape. biggest problem imo was the loss of the thumb. it would be a step BACKWARDS considering it really closely resembles the shape of how i used to draw hands (which is why null specifically had 3 fingers- i used to draw hands ALWAYS with just 3 fingers, i just decided to intentionally keep it with null lol)

second one is the current hand design, three fingers with one acting as a tumb.

i kinda have a tradition that i make a new character design mid-artfight, so this year im gonna be actually nailing down tyto's design. hardest part is trying to get the color scheme right- i want to capture a similar chaotic vibe to fane without making them TOO similar. i think im on the right track but ill still be fiddling with it a lot

oh man lol i still gotta work on bang's personality and such but im thinking their aspect is like. unexpectedness and randomness (think less "lol random XD" and more "sentient random number generator"). i also think it would be really funny if they were the type to overthink their aspect and what it entails because its SUPER hard to have "true" randomness in anything other than theory, and being truly unexpectable means that sometimes you have to do something entirely normal so the unexpectedness isnt... expected. also i think shock and awe will tend to disagree on shit a ton but settle things really quickly by just. picking entirely at random which one they go with.

also they end up being on null's side specifically because thats another thing they picked at random, and they also decided to just. stay loyal because they thought it would be too predictable for the sundog of doing whatever shit they feel like to switch sides on a whim.
