Honestly, I'm super into movies. I could talk about movies and writing and actors and all their deep meanings for hours, but if you had to ask me what my definite favourite thing about movies is, I would have to say cinematography.

I go crazy for good, pretty shots – which is why I don't watch romcoms or solely comedy movies. Unless it's Superbad (2007).

Recently, my father and I got into an argument because he wanted to watch Aliens (1986) when I didn't want to watch it. And then he suggested something more sad and less scary, so he chose Angela's Ashes (1999). And I said no again, because I dislike that movie. And then he started getting exhausted with me, so he asked me if I wanted to watch Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998), and again I said no – even though I quite like Guy Ritchie, that movie was always just not my cup of tea (though Snatch was one of my favourite movies ever a while ago).

And I looked at him and said, 'Look, Dad, you and I have different tastes in movies now,' because since I was little, my dad would show me all of his favourite movies, and now I've grown up and gathered a taste of my own. I like what I like. My father and I share a similar taste, I will say, but it's not like every movie he likes is a movie that I'm going to like.

So today, I watched Project Hail Mary (2026) with my mother and my father, then got into a fight with my father, and then I stormed off angrily to my room to watch Get Out (2017) and rewatch one of my favourite Tarantino films, Inglourious Basterds (2009).
