dragging himself home in humiliation was something viral was getting used to, but the visions of his dead enemy were not. flashes like lightning burnt through his mind as kamina haunted his every thought.

‘if I'm not real, why are you talking to me?’ kamina asked, ever annoying to the beastman he had decided to haunt. if haunting was the right term. before this viral had not believed in things like ghosts, but his resolve was crumbling the more the other man spoke to him.

‘I don't know. what even are you now?’ viral demanded. kamina shrugged, still dripping blood everywhere. if the blood was real, viral was going to have a lot of scrubbing in his near future.

‘I don't know what I am. not alive! and probably not even real. poor fuzzball has gotten himself a brain ghost!’ kamina laughed.

kamina looked saddened for a moment, before he shrugged. ‘hey, I know as much as you do, viral’ it was the first time the man had acknowledged his name, but the sorrow in his tone stopped viral from asking him about it.

the cockpit was silent for a while, before kamina, ever the chatterbox, piped up with a query of ‘can you touch me?’

‘excuse me?’

kamina waved his hand. ‘not in a weird way, you freak. I just dont want you beating on me after everything. I think i deserve some chill time.’

viral hesitantly turned into his chair and reached a hand up to kaminas arm. slowly, breath caught in his throat, he placed his hand down.

kamina was solid.

‘you feel like ice’ viral muttered, pulling away. he ignored his heart pounding in his chest. now was not the time to show fear.
