Separate pics and mini ‘refs’ of the royal family.
Zayfa - Unofficial former ‘Queen’ of Borok, only due to being Gumyre’s other parent. Never had any formal ties to Amagla’al.
Gumyre - Son of Amagla’al and Zayfa. Cannot actually use magic, but produces it. Sealed his father away in a tome to stop him.
Amagla’al - Former king of Borok. Attempted to drain every being in existence of their magic, rendering them husks. Stopped by his son.
Zip - One of Gumyre’s children and the current king of Borok. Cannot use magic.
Mayol - Gumyre’s youngest child. Left Borok to travel dimensions, and is the parent of Fabula.
Ertna - Yoono’s twin and one of Gumyre’s children. Tasked with guarding the temple that houses the tome trapping Amagla’al.
Yoono - Ertna’s twin and one of Gumyre’s children. Gets a lot of flak for resembling her grandfather so much.
Hana’a - Gumyre’s second-oldest child. Doesn’t speak, and loves to study magic more than anything.
Bala - Gumyre’s oldest child. Vanished long before the other children left home, supposedly to start his own life.
Here’s a small info post about Ketzalites, since they’ve been rather important in my big story.
----
Confined to the kingdom of Borok in an unnamed dimension, Ketzalites are strange magic-based individuals. They are known for their long lifespans, and can live several thousand years.
Ketzalites cannot travel dimensions like a few other magical species unless they have a large amount of power. As such, there are very few outside of Borok who know of their existence.
There are only two known instances of a Ketzalite leaving Borok: When Amagla’al tried to expand his power, and when Mayol left the kingdom to explore.
After Amagla’al attempted to conquer more land and suck magic from everything, Gumyre sealed him away in a tome and took the throne. He then had six children: Zip, Mayol, Ertna, Yoono, Hana’a, and Bala. Of those children, he chose Zip, the only magic-less one, to rule when he stepped down from the throne.
While the rest of his children dispersed to have families of their own, Mayol chose to leave the dimension, and wandered for a long while. Eventually, they ran into a Masked Magician named Harris, and had a son.
The kingdom, now safe from Amagla’al’s tyranny, is rather quiet.
Here are the boys! Cramming their bios together since they have basically the same story.
Name: Amagla’al (a-MOG-lol) // Gumyre (GUM-aye-er)
Age: Several millenia
Alignment: Chaotic evil // Lawful good
Personality
Amagla’al
Amagla’al is a cunning one, usually only interacting with people if he has something to gain from them. In the rare chance he makes a friend, it isn’t for long, as he eventually decides to sever the connection for his own desires.
Gumyre
In contrast to his father, Gumyre is a kind soul who will do whatever it takes to make sure the balance of the world is kept stable. He has a strong sense of morality, and will refuse to do anything that goes against what he believes is right.
History
Amagla’al was once the king of a population of Ketzalites, bird-like beings with general magic ability. He used his position of power to do as he pleased, satisfied that nobody was able to stop him.
His messing around, however, ended up in a child being born: Gumyre. Amagla’al was unaware of Gumyre’s existence until Gumyre was almost an adult, but when he found out, he decided to take the boy from his mother, and groom him to follow in his footsteps.
Eventually, Amagla’al learned how to absorb magic from others. This eventually gave birth to a thirst for more power, and he began what was known as ‘Amagla’al’s Reign.’ During this time, he absorbed the magic of the innocent, rendering them nothing but lifeless husks.
As he gained power, he expanded his reach to other worlds, eventually draining their inhabitants of magic as well. He was determined to become the strongest being possible.
Gumyre, on the other hand, was against this. He did not want to see anyone else suffer, so he sealed Amagla’al away in a journal he had been writing and cast the journal away. The journal would later be called the Tome of Amagla’al.
Once his kingdom was free from his father’s hold, Gumyre took the throne, and began the difficult process of restoring the balance. After many years of peaceful rule, he eventually gave the throne up to one of his many children. It is unknown where he is know, but he is believed to still be alive.
Abilities
Amagla’al
Magic Absorption
Amagla’al can suck the magical energy from any other magical being. The more powerful the being, the more energy he stands to gain. The more powerful he is, the fast he can drain the energy.
Gumyre
Magic Radiance
Gumyre has the unique ability to actually naturally produce an outstanding amount of magical energy, however the cost is that he cannot use any magic himself. He can use this energy to power any of his allies.
Other Info
They both have unique forms they can change into after absorbing enough magical energy--Amagla’al’s being some sort of serpent, and Gumyre’s being some sort of bird.
Gumyre and Amagla’al are Fabula’s grandfather and great-grandfather, respectively. Fabula is the son of one of Gumyre’s children that did not get chosen for the throne.
