I'm a big history geek, so I'm not a big fan of conquering armies & conquests & wars/battles knowing the price common citizens/people face is the worst as they're the most affected. But this show has managed to show both sides neutrally, pretty much well balanced, not any hero or villain (even if there is/maybe one).

The cinematography, the powerful complex characters, the large scale scenes, the direction, it all amalgamates perfectly together.

Most of all, loved Giovanni Guistiniani & Therma Sphrantzes' deep love story! In those few scenes together, they've managed to create an undying spark, which stays with you long after show is over.
