Maybe one of the collage edits could have Cinderella in her maid outfit, another in her blue dress and also of her destroyed pink dress, to reference the many forms of Guinevere and the ways she has been treated. Like her princess form, her opening form and her wrecked one. But since her show is called Knights of Guinevere, maybe you can also use one of Cinderella's knight forms from Mirrorverses and Lorcanas ("Stouthearted"/"Knight in Training").

To continue where I left off:

Something the girls both have in common too is that they have animals as their only friends. Of course, this is not uncommon for Disney princesses, and the reason Guinevere has this trait is specifically to reference the trope. But I do think it's cute for them to have a shared interest and love for animals.

That brings me to my next point, Guinevere and Cinderella both take on roles of caretakers. Princess Guinevere is programmed to take care of children, Cinderella takes care of all the animals in the house. Of course, they are also servants, but they take care of their friends out of love and kindness. They are then also not the best in taking care of themselves, as they are always focused on giving to others. I think in this way, they would be a good match - as they can look after each other.

Guinevere is protective over other people in particular, and Cinderella speaks up when faced with injustice.

They are very determined people who never give up, and they deserve someone as dedicated to them as they are to others. Guinevere can provide Cinderella the sense of safety and security that she doesn't get in her day to day life, and Cinderella can provide Guinevere the kindness and care that she is not met with.

This will repeat some of my previous points I think but I believe the characters also have comparable stages within their media:

And of course, there's also the fact that there's 'as many Gwen's as there are stars in the sky'.

Cinderella, the Disney character, may not have different versions in the same way that Guinevere does, but I do want to point out a different comparison here.

Cinderella, as a fairytale character, famously has infinite retellings, different adaptations. Cinderella is one of the oldest, most universally know fairytales, adapted throughout so many different cultures and generations.

The first sentence on the Wikipedia page is literally about how many variants of Cinderella there are. The sheer amount of adaptations and different interpretations of this story is incredible.

Now, how does this relate to the characters' dynamic and how they relate to each other? I don't know yet. But! Think about it! The potential for AU's goes crazy!!!

Speaking of, and this might sound silly, but Disney Lorcana has made different interpretations of their own characters, in which Cinderella is in specific made to be a knight - which is what made me think of this crossover in the first place.

And that's something I find interesting, Cinderella did not suddenly become a knight overnight - she trained for it. Why she wanted to become a knight? Maybe she heard about a princess who was locked away. Maybe she heard her prayers for rescue. Maybe she knows what it's like to be locked away in your own house, and wishes no one else that same fate. Just an idea.

Maybe she can be Guinevere's knight, and Gwen can be her princess. Maybe they can find comfort in each other and finally live a life of peace and love through each others kindness and protection, away from the pain of their past and the companies that are destroying them.

This crossover collage is of Cinderella and Guinevere, part of me wanted to include one of Cinderella's knight deigns from Mirrorverse or Lorcanas, so she could serve as one of Gwen's knight. Though when I decided to make a Guinerella collage, I wanted to reference the three different forms of the two that showcase the similarities between them, as I feel that Cinderella is the Disney Princess that she most relates to.

The angst potential and overlap these characters have is insane to think about!!! I love them!!!

PART 1

So I've been trying to share my vision of this ship with the world (check out my art here and here!!) and thought I would share their similarities and why they are great together!

Guinevere is a victim of corporate greed, constantly being fixed up, changed around, basically being milked to death. But she herself also shows the beauty and magic of the princesses, the good parts that are real. Dana said herself,

You feel this love within the character of Guinvere. The pilot feels like a combination of spite and appreciation. Even the characters of Andi and Frankie represent this. Anyways. I'm taking this lens and applying it to Cinderella.

Cinderella was not made with the intention of becoming a franchise. When the film came out, it was considered a masterpiece, Disney's best work to date. Walt Disney's favorite piece of animation is part of this movie. The people working on it where passionate. The film remains one of the most beloved Disney movies.

Cinderella herself, as a character - like Guinevere, holds much love and magic.

That's what brings us to the Disney Princess as a franchise, a brand that was created in the early 2000's.

Cinderella is the character that consistantly has had the most changes made to her design in order to make her more marketable. Her dress was made blue, her hair yellow, the entire hairstyle and face was changed, the dress was changed, updated to be more modern, later changed back to be more true to the original due to complaints.

It reminds me of this screenshot of Guinevere. She needs to look perfect, to look marketable, to make profit. They can't let her rest.

Cinderella and Guinevere have both become products themselves. Guinevere mirrors Cinderella in the way she gets treated by modern Disney, a tragic reflection of our late-stage capitalist society.

Next to the parallels on how they're percieved in their respective modern societies, there's also parallels in their characters, personalities and backgrounds.

Both Cinderella and Guinevere come from abusive homes, living in unsafe environments where they are not able to escape from on their own. Both characters are in a way treated inhumanely, expected to submit to their families. They are both servants in their own home, being ripped apart and locked away.

Of course these are vastly different circumstances - their treatment is very different and shouldn't be compared, instead I'm pointing out overlap. I think they would be able to understand each other in a way that others couldn't.
