This is a request from @pilindielofgondor I hope itâs okay its longer than I expected,
(SORRY itâs so late though, I had a family emergency)Â
I tried to do it in the third person, iâve never written for Draco before, not properly anyway Iâve done some imagines, but nothing on this extent.
Pilindiel Gaunt is a transfer student, from Beaxbuton originally living in Spain. she is placed in Slytherin,Â
[WARNINGS] bullying.
Third-year had passed by so quickly, with all things considering. Â Transferring to a new school had been difficult at the beginning. Â The lessons alone were difficult, throw in the language barrier and Pilindiel Gaunt wanted nothing more than to quit. Â Thankfully the young girl had known a few students, threw her father, with his job at the ministry in Spain he had made plenty of connections, which made the move to England a little easier for Pilindiel. Â As much as she hated the dinners with the âpurebloodsâ it was handy for her to meet other students at Hogwarts. Â Most of which were in Slytherin too. Â For the first few months, Pilindiel would be hounded by other students curious about her heavy Spanish accent, all that quickly dwindled, the excitement of having a foreign student wore off, which was exactly what Pilindiel wanted. Â It was obvious that most of those who spoke to her were false, in offering their friendship, whether it be because of her dad, or where she was from. Â Thankfully she did make two genuine friends, Celeste and Judy. Â
The fourth year was no less eventful, and now it was the start of the fifth year. Â It was only the first week, and Pilindiel was already done, it felt as though work had doubled already. Â Which meant more time in the library, which was where she was now, wanting to work on her potions homework in peace, so before grabbing a sit, Pilindiel went in search for the right book to help her. Â As she was searching, she came across Neville Longbottom, who looked like he was struggling. Â Pilindiel couldnât help notice the book that was open in front of him, it was Potions. Â Neville often struggled with potions, though she had a feeling it was more down to Professor Snape's teaching methods, rather than Nevilleâs inability. Â Pilindiel, thought a moment, before deciding to offer to help him.
âUh, Neville, do you need a hand?â she asked, the poor Gryffindor was shyer than her and that was saying something. Â He looked up to her, thought a moment then nodded, so Pilindiel, took the seat beside him and talked him through it. Â
By the end, it seemed like Neville and a basic understanding of the work. Â
âThank youâ Neville smiled, Pilindiel could see a weight lift off his shoulders. Â
âIf you need anything else let me knowâ She offered before leaving him, and heading back to her dorm, before she had reached the stairs though, Pansy Parkinson approached her.
âSaw you with Neville,â she said, her tone was mean as usual, when she spoke to Pilindiel, she really didnât like the ânewâ girl.
âI was helping him with his homeworkâ Pilindiel replied softly.
âWhy?â Pansy asked, in a snarky way.
âHe needed helpâ Pilindiel continued. Â Pansy looked you up and down, and as she opened her mouth to say something else, Draco and his friends walked through the door. Â Pansy shut up and glared at Pilindiel then walked off. Â Leaving Pilindiel standing there a little confused, Pansy was never particularly nice to her, but this was quite harsh. Â Deciding not to dwell on it, Pilindiel continued onwards to her room.
A few days later, whilst walking to class, Draco, Pansy, and a few others were walking in front of Pilindiel, she couldnât help overhear Pansy say something bad about her, but Draco stopped her, âWas he sticking up for me?â Pilindiel thought. Â Pansy didnât look happy with that and since that day Pansy had become much more hostile towards Pilindiel, making snide comments whenever she walked passed. Â Pilindiel had asked Celeste and Judy what was happening, their conclusion was jealousy. Â It was no secret Pansy had a crush on Draco, but Pilindiel couldnât figure out why Pansy would be jealous, her and Draco barely talked. Â
A few months had passed since Pansy started bullying Pilindiel, she tried her best to ignore it, to not let it bother her, but it was getting harder and harder, Pilindiel tried her best to avoid Pansy. Â Pansy would even pick up on how her brown hair could be untameable, of course, it was nothing like Hermioneâs but the wavy length would often become frizzy if it wasnât taken care off, Pansy would even mention how pale she was, comparing her to beasts, but she particularly liked to pick on Pilindielâs accent, though the Spanish girl could speak excellent English. Â One day all the bullying got too much, as soon as classes had finished Pilindiel took herself off to a quiet place to cry. Â
She had barely let the tears out when a voice called out to her, she recognised who it was, Draco. Â Pilindielâs cheeks flushed red from embarrassment, someone had seen her cry.
âYou okay?â he asked, sounding a little disgusted at first, but when Pilindiel turned round, his mood quickly changed.
âUh, yeah, sorryâ Pilindiel whispered. Â Draco frowned.~
âWell, uh excuse meâ Pilindiel continued walking off and heading to her dorm. Â
She was so embarrassed that Draco had seen her crying, but days had passed and he hadnât said anything to her. Â However, he did seem to be making an effort to sit with her more often, including her in conversations. Â Which was nice and awkward at the same time. Â Pilindiel wasnât keen on Draco, the way he talked to people, especially the Weasleyâs and Harry Potter, but after spending some time with him, Pilindiel realised he wasnât that bad of a person. He could actually be quite funny, he had a dry wit. She was starting to get along with him and it seemed like he enjoyed her company too, as he would often try and spend time with her alone. Â It was a shame about how he was with people he didnât like, and there was a lot. Â
Pilindiel had also noticed that Pansy seemed to dislike her more, but at the same time, the bullying had stopped.
âSo what do you think?â Draco asked, Pilindiel wasnât fully paying attention, she had zoned out a little when Draco had started talking about Dumbledore being mad.
âPilindiel?â he asked,
âOh, uhâ she wanted to say the truth, that she supports Dumbledore, but she couldnât bring herself to do it, she had so many opinions in her head, but wording them was hard for her. Â Draco waited for her reply though. Â It was only the two of them talking, with their homework in front of them.
âWell, I donât think Dumbledoreâs madâ Pilindiel finally said. Â
âYou support Dumbledore?â Draco continued, he was staring at Pilindiel now.
âYesâ Pilindielâs tone, Draco scrunched up his face but changed the topic. Â Pilindiel expected there to be a backlash for her opinion, but it never came. Â Instead he talked about Spain, asking Pilindiel questions about her former home. Â
The conversation lasted over an hour, Draco had never heard Pilindiel talk so much, but he quite liked it and it cheered Pilindiel right up. Â Draco found himself staring at Pilindiel, he hadnât noticed before, but she had a faint scattering of freckles across her cheeks, standing out against her pale skin. Â Her eyes reminded him of honey glistening in the light, and her voice was quite angelic to him, her accent only made it more so. Â âOh noâ he suddenly thought, Draco felt the blossom of a crush for his new friend. Â His cheeks heated up, but Pilindiel was completely oblivious at that moment. Â
That Christmas, Pilindiel went home, her parents insisted on it. Â They wanted her to attend a dinner with the Malfoyâs, she wasnât looking forward to that, but at least Draco would be there. Â
Approaching the house, took her breath away, it was bigger than she had imagined, the Gaunt family was rich, but they werenât as extravagant as the Malfoys. Â Pilindiel and her parents were lead into the living room, where the Malfoyâs waited. Â They were all suited up, looking very neat, Â Pilindielâs eyes lingered on Draco. Â He looked quite handsome in his suit, with his black shirt and his hair slicked back. Â Draco too found himself staring, Pilindiel had a lovely deep blue dress on, with Spanish influences thrown in. Â she looked beautiful. Â
After the food was served and eaten, Draco led Pilindiel upstairs to his room, where they could finally relax a bit. Â
âDraco are you okay?â Pilindiel asked once the door was shut. Â He had been acting strangely during the dinner. Â
âHuh yeah, everything's fineâ Â Draco blushed. Â Pilindiel smiled at him, only making the boys blush deepen.
âYou look really huh, good in that dress, I mean lovely, huhâ Draco stuttered suddenly. Â
âOh, uh, thank youâ Pilindiel barely got the words out, she had never been called lovely before. Â
âYeah, huhâ Draco quickly changed the subject, settling his thumping heart. Â He started talking about quidditch, which Pilindiel wasnât too keen on, but he was so she listened patiently. Â The next topic of conversation was animals, which Pilindiel had a keen interest in. Â though as far as she knew Draco didnât, however, Draco wanted to hear her talk about something she was interested in. he really enjoyed the enthusiasm and passion in her tone.
He was watching her talk away, chirping in when he could with his usual dry humor, or sarcastic comment, but before he knew it, he was staring at her lips as the moved, the stood out in colour against her skin. Â He wanted to kiss her, he never felt like that before, the more he watched the more the urge became unbearable, until he gave in, pressing his lips to hers. Â Pilindiel froze, losing her train of thought, was this something she wanted?. Â When Draco pulled away, he had expected Pilindiel to run, but she didnât she looked down to her knees, he could see a blush forming on her cheeks, matching his own. He was going to apologise, but then Pilindiel looked back up to him, she didnât realise how much she liked Draco, and how much she wanted him to kiss her again, she would have made the first move, but she was too shy to. Â She hoped her expression would be enough, and it was, Â Draco started leaning towards her, ready to kiss again, this time though he waited for her to meet him in the middle. Â Which she did. Â
Draco grabbed hold of her hand, holding it tightly in his. Â Pilindiel had expected his hands to be cold, going by how pale his skin was, but it wasnât it was warm and comforting. Â When they pulled away, Pilindiel shared a bright smile, that Draco loved. Â
âSo, huh, wanna be my girlfriend?â Draco asked, he tried to sound confident, he was usually confident, but Pilindiel always made him so nervous. Â
âOkayâ Pilindiel nodded, she couldnât believe that this was happening, that he would even remotely like her in any way, let alone want to date her. Â She was speechless. Â
Two months passed by, it was already nearing the end of February, Draco and Pilindiel had become public with their relationship. Â Pansy wasnât too happy with it, but she never vocalised it. Since the two started dating, Draco had stopped being so hostile to those he used to bully, especially when Pilindiel was around. Â He still had his moments, however.
At the moment, Pilindiel was nose deep in a book, studying for the upcoming exams, that were fast approaching. Â She only looked up, when someone dropped a heavy book on the table. Â Her eyes met that of Dracoâs how wore a pout on his lips. Â
âYou study to muchâ he whispered.
âI have to, if I want to passâ Pilindiel replied turning her attention back to her work. Draco folded his arms,
âBut we havenât hung out in agesâ he sulked, if Draco had one fault aside from his bullying, it would be that he was pretty needy, often craving Pilindielâs attention, most of the time she didnât mind, but right now, when she had so much work to do, it was quite annoying.
When Draco realised Pilindiel wasnât going to say anything, he plonked himself down on the chair beside her, resting his head on his hand, watching her. Â As much as he wanted her attention, he quite enjoyed watching her studying, the concentration on her face, the slight frown she wore, and the way she would bite her lip as rather cute. Â
âYouâre ignoring meâ Draco spoke,
âYesâ Pilindiel replied, she had become quietly confident with Draco, sometimes talking back to him. Â Which in truth he loved.
âWell, donât, I donât like itâ Draco continued, humour in his tone, a side to him that no one else ever saw.
âNot all of us can put in minimal effort and still pass Dracoâ Pilindiel smiled at him, âIf I fail all hell will break loose at himâ
âWhy does it matter, you donât need to work after school, not with me,â Draco said absentmindedly, but Pilindiel froze, he was talking about the future with her.
âWhat do you mean?â she decided to ask, just in case she misunderstood.
âWell, when weâre married you won't have to workâ he continued like it was nothing, they had only been dating for two months, yet he was talking about marriage, this should have scared Pilindiel, but it didnât it made her happy
âBut what if I want toâ Pilindiel whispered. Â Draco sighed, but then suddenly froze as if he had realised what he had said,
âUh, well, fine, study, Iâll just sit here boredâ he finally stuttered, wanting to quickly change the subject. While Pilindiel concentrated, Draco began thinking about the future, he quite liked the idea of marrying Pilindiel, his parentâs would also approve, he found himself smiling. Â They were both happy with each other, it such a short period of time, but would it last?
