genuinely killing myself for having a prepubescent ass voice at grown ass 26 years of age got me getting kicked from lobbies for being a minor BITCH WHAT
Question 8 for the Fraggle Five?
ooohhh...oh this is a rant...
I've talked before about how the pre-2020 Fraggle Fandom is weirdly heteronormative. And it's terrible. This isn't even an I hate straight people thing. This isn't even an I can't consume media if I can't ship the characters.
It's honestly kind of gross reading old Fraggle fics and seeing these dynamic, diverse and incredible characters boiled down to their gender.
I hate it when they made Mokey a Stepford wife. The top FIVE (last time I checked) Fraggle Fics on Wattpad had something to do with Mokey being pregnant, or otherwise a mother. Nothing wrong in a bubble, write what you want, but seeing an entire wall of that stuff just makes me cringe. She's more than motherly. She has a temper, she's a little selfish, she's kind of whiny, she's a bit of a sore loser.
I hate it when they strip Red of everything that makes her Red and shove her into a stereotypical mold of femininity that she doesn't fit. All the fics and art where she gets all blushy and ditzy around male characters? No. If she likes somebody, she's gonna act out and probably shove them and tease them. Also seeing her shipped with men makes me scrunchβ’ in displeasure.
I hate it when they made Wembley an idiot. He's not an idiot, he's just a little dumb sometimes. I've seen people treat him like a stupid idiot who doesn't know anything, making the heteronormativity even more apparent by turning him into the 'baby' of the group and not really letting him do anything besides be coddled by everyone else. The best parts of Wembley's arc are seeing him grow up, become an adult, stand up for himself, and declare that he's not a baby anymore.
I hate it when they strip Boober of his hobbies like cooking and laundry, I can only assume because they deem them too feminine. They make him more aggressive, a shocking amount of them make him incredibly arrogant, they ignore Sidebottom's existence, and they turn Boober from a dramatic drama queen with a passionate for traditionally un-masculine things into something completely unrecognisable. All I'm saying...That one Rocky Horror Fanart...If you know, you know.
I hate it when they take away Gobo's flaws, his list for adventure and his love for his friends. Honestly, I've seen a couple of old fics that kind of make him an insufferable pervert, but those seem to be few and far between, and other than being forced into relationships with every woman in the show, they seem to get his character...pretty ok.
I HATE this era of the fandom. And again, I'm not anti-straight ships. I will 100% take a well written straight ship over a poorly written gay ship. But of all shows to make unbearably heterosexual, Fraggle Rock is a weird choice. Especially when it's at the expense of everything that makes the characters so fun and loveable in the first place.
HES NOT WHJITE

Expedition 33 Pathologic AU
Clea - The Bachelor
Ever since she was a child, Clea was called a dreamer with how often she strived to achieve great things. But sheβs always hated that title. A dream is something unattainable, nothing more than a fairytale to galavant through when the world is dark and the eyes are closed. Nay, she reaches for the tangible, that which is real. And yet, now, sheβs set her sights on a goal that may very well make her a hypocrite.
Having entered medical school at the mere age of sixteen and graduating by twenty-four, Clea has spent the last six years building an empire of her own, a laboratory all to herself to study what she wants: Thanatica. It is here that she studies and battles to defeat a foe all thought to be invincible, something that even the smartest doctor could cure: death itself.
That is what brings her to the Town. Itβs her greatest lead yet: an immortal man living out in some backwater village in the Steppe. But when she arrives, she finds that he has been killed. She tries to flee, to return to the safety of the Capital, but the trains wonβt run. Sheβs trapped in the Town, forced to perform her civil duties as a doctor, as Death prowls.
Clea is the blood. That which flows from place to place and gives life to all she touches.

Emma - The Haruspex
Emma fit in well with the people of the Capitalβthat is the unfortunate part. With her pretty face and steady hands, she seemed like any other aristocrat that walked the streets. She even indulged in some of their fine dresses and fancy hats from time to time. But there is mud in her blood, and her home would always be out where the twyre sings.
Born in the Town itself with her twin brother, Emma is a member of the Kin, the indigenous people of the Steppe. She grew up playing in those streets and listening to campfire ghost stories of beasts like the Shabnak-Adyr. Seven years ago, when she was twenty-five, she left to go to medical school in the Capital to become a surgeon, for her father, a respected member of the community, saw the limitations of his teachings as a doctor. He wanted her to have the utmost understanding of the art of the body before she ascended into her full title of menkhu. Now, a year before she graduated fully, she has returned upon getting an urgent letter from her father.
Heβs dead when she arrivesβmurdered. And the blame is placed on her.
Emma is the organs. That which powers everything and cannot stop lest it all falls apart.

Maelle - The Changeling
Maelle awakens in the bottom of an open grave with blood on her hands and mud in her mouth. Her arms ache like sheβs been climbing up some great mountain, and her back is sore.
She calls herself a saint, sent by God to help her fellow human. People look at her oddly. They will beg on their knees for her to save them soon, and she will happily do so with her miraculous hands. She loves them! They love her! They hate her! They call her a demon, an angel. She heals them, she hears them weep. Why do they sometimes bleed when she touches them? Why wonβt they stop bleeding?
A mysterious little girl, Maelle appeared seemingly out of nowhere in the Town and now wanders the streets as an urchin. The Kin speak to her like a sibling. Everyone else seems divided on their opinions of her. Some call her a thief, a murderer, but she knows sheβs innocent! It was her twin who did all those things, not her!
She will do anything it takes to keep it that way, to stay in their graces, even if it means facing great pain and hardships.
Maelle is the skin. That which connects everything to all.
