his condition was present from a young age, earliest memories being shrouded in the blue’s of winter and the yellow of spring. his mother was a blind woman; someone who never quite understood her son’s obsession with seeing the world differently while omar’s father was constantly working, unable to pay any attention to his son with his head in the clouds. 

he was bullied continuously for years, it took coming home with a broken nose to really set the path of his parents wanting to know what was wrong with their son and the diagnosis did little to spur their desire to be better parents but it gave him answers and absent parents made him dive head first into music because it was his way of feeling just about anything. 

there seemed to be some irony to his parents pushing him into the music business at 15, something he suspected was drenched in their desire for money though back then it seemed like a good thing: a world where people would understand him. 

you make enemies when you don’t work the way they want you to and maybe that’s what happened, along the way his head got too big and people expected anything other than what he could give. 

personality points:

he feels emotion deeply but feels the colour of it, he’s been in hazy blues for a while moving into purples and he’s aware that drugs seem to turn it purple. it also means he feels strange sensations in certain situations, anger makes him feel like his skin is on fire whereas sadness makes him feel as if there’s a chill in the air. 

he’s aware of how complicated he is and that people find it strange but unlike his parents he deems it more a unique stance than one of having a condition. omar is omar. 

he tends to feel comfortable in more casual attire, hoodies and converse though at this point it may also just be laziness.

WANTED CONNECTIONS

Johnny takes his role as a brother very seriously - in some part thanks to everything that the Miu children went through. he’s sort of self-designated himself their protector and will do anything to ensure that his sisters are safe. 

Coming out wasn’t so much a matter of coming out as it was just finally saying a label to the actions once he learned what pansexuality was. He’s always been very open with his attraction and had never really felt the need to “come out” but he’ll do it if that’s what makes more sense to people. 

Though Johnny doesn’t have much of a temper exactly, he does get easily annoyed and will openly start to grumble when something is taking too long or he’s frustrated over something. 

The decision to become a nurse was an easy one. He’s always been a bright boy and in his eyes, working as a nurse ensures that he’s able to help people directly. His favorite unit is the pediatric and the geriatric units as he feels they always have the most genuine delight at his company. 

He’s not told his sisters, nor does he want to tell them, but sometimes he has nightmares about the night their parents died. He can remember the feeling of pure terror as he got his sisters out of the car as well as the crushing guilt from watching the car continue down with their mother inside still. 

For a medical professional, Johnny is not the best when it comes to taking care of his own health. He drinks far too much coffee and gets way too little sleep, but he hasn’t collapsed yet and so unless someone is keeping an eye on him, it’s really hard to tell that he’s been so destructive. 

The night of the wreck still haunts him and still there are times he considers going to the authorities to confess what happened. 

Since that night, Johnny has sworn off all drugs, but Pixie Dust is addictive and dealing with the fallout from not taking it again has taken a toll on his body. Johnny likes to think he’s over the hump of it all, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy to avoid that partying life - especially when it made him feel so good and without a care in the world for a few hours.

bio: 

Kellan Sloan grew up in Boston with a big family and was one of the youngest of his siblings. He was never the most popular, always a bit of an awkward boi, a bit soft and definitely tripping over himself.

He was a bit of a class clown, always enjoyed making friends and making people laugh – he was good at both and that helped his confidence as he got older. He always looked up to Keith though, who kept their family going for as long as he could when their dad died.

When they started going their own way, Kellan wasn’t sure what he’d be good at and decided he may as well try his hand in the kitchen. He knew he had to find ways to support himself. It wasn’t that their family didn’t love each other but it soon became easier for them all to strike out on their own rather than try to take care of a big family.

He managed to get into culinary school which was as much a surprise to him as anyone he knew considering he’d never been particularly gifted academically but he did alright. No Gordon Ramsey or Jamie Oliver but he managed. 

At the same time, as a kid and as he got older, Kellan developed a knack for nabbing things that weren’t his. He was able to procure things no one else could – priceless jewelry, pieces of art, rare artifacts, and no one ever looked at him. Who’d think that the chef running the kitchen of a fancy hotel or restaurant was also clocking the guests from the door, looking up who’d ordered $1,000 worth of food for lunch at table 24 or who’d ordered the $500 bottle of wine at table 15 after they closed up. 

Of course, talent only goes so far when you’re reckless and when he absconded away with a priceless painting from the son of someone who turned out to be a Boston based mobster –– he got the hell out of dodge. 

He didn’t have anywhere to go and with family all over, he picked a place on the map and went to Grimmbrook where his older brother Keith was with his daughter. 

He arrived in January and has been working at the Royal Flush since. He still keeps up his antics but has laid low in terms of stealing more than a piece of fine jewelry or watch here or there. He’s not looking to lose his neck and drug trafficking has kept him more than a little busy along with his “legit” job as a chef at the Royal Flush.

Tap dances. A girlfriend back in Boston was obsessed and ever eager to please, he took it up and was pretty fire on them tap shoes.

Is usually casing anywhere he goes out of habit. Usually looks like he’s zoned out and he lets it go because sometimes he actually legitimately zones out so it’s a valid excuse.

Loves love. Literally falls for the first pretty face who smiles at him. Big on gestures. Is bi but has recently just had a string of girlfriends, though he’s had boyfriends before.

A health nut in terms of physical activity, loves the gym. All about them gains. When he gets onto a fitness trend, it’s near impossible to get him off it.

Thinks stand up comedy is hilarious, literally anyone on stage gets his respect and he’s always suggesting you watch a new one.

daniel was a loner and super quiet. he kept to himself and his mom was his only friend 

his father was a politician and there was a scandal when he had an affair with a male intern. this broke daniel’s mother, but daniel was still a kid and didn’t really understand what was happening

one day he came home from school and found that his mother had killed herself. he moved into a hotel room with his dad and became even more reserved 

he was bullied throughout high school because of all the issues with his parents and he was a huge loner, so people thought he was weird

he moved from washington to michigan to study criminology. he became a police officer and started doing undercover work. He was surprisingly really good at it. he was really pumped for it at first because of all the good that could come from it. but he had to do a lot of not-great things to maintain his cover, and it really weighed on him. he felt HORRIBLE 

he was undercover and got into a gun fight with a rival gang. he ended up killing one of them but it was a sixteen year old boy. he literally could not function after this. he moved grimmbrook after this to get away and get a fresh start

he was a regular cop but now he is a homicide detective because he wants to do more and help out more. he’s in way over his head because finding madison’s body just reminded him of finding his mother’s body

he is stressed all the time and has good intentions, but he tends to see the worst in people and is really unflinching in that regard

Was born in Istanbul, Turkey as Safiye Polat to a single mother. However, the narrative she had always known was that it was her and Victor from the start. That her mother had unfortunately died due to childbirth complications. Little does she know the man who raised her all her life was on a paid assignment to kill her mother. It was only due to the pureness of her nature as a newborn that saved her from her own mortality.

Growing up she had a safe, conservative, and structured childhood. Unlike most of the kids in the neighborhood who were just mindlessly playing around with one another, Fawn’s was all about learning skills and tactics that would teach her how to survive in this life. From hunting to camping, building her own toys, cooking, speaking multiple languages, and learning how to defend herself, Victor was preparing her for the harsh reality of the world. One thing was for sure, despite her soft spirit and kind nature, she has a strong combo of book and street smarts.

Had picked up a strong liking and talent for the arts; primarily illustrations. She created worlds and her own picture books, reflections of her fondest moments. It’s how she kept herself occupied when she stayed with the next door neighbor growing up while her dad was on yet another traveling assignment. The kids always asked what her dad did and she honestly never knew. She’d ask him a million times as she aged and received nothing but vague answers along the lines of security and self-employment. With that came a lot of moving and altered identities. It wasn’t until shortly after she turned eighteen that her life was being uprooted yet again that they left Europe and moved to Grimmbrook with the newest identity of Fawn Goldwin.

Gio has always known that he is difficult to get along with. He’s not the most attentive, he sometimes forgets that other people deserve a chance to talk in conversations too, and his blunt responses can often be interpreted as rudeness. Still, those who manage to keep him in their lives after all that, he cares about deeply and would probably go insane if anything were to happen to them. 

He loved his adoptive parents with all his heart and still keeps in semi-regular contact with his father. He would contact the man more, but given his occupation, he doesn’t want too many questions asked and if anything goes sideways, he’s not interested in it being quite clear who is so important to him. 

Being on the spectrum, growing up was difficult for him. He didn’t grasp things as quickly or the same way that the other kids in his class did. Social skills didn’t come as naturally and small learned behaviors like regulating emotions and discussing those emotions were foreign to him. Often times that confusion turned into anger or violent frustrations, even going as far as one time hitting another classmate during recess because he didn’t know how to cope with the situation around him. Now, as an adult, Gio has learned many skills to better exist in the world and for all his life has been considered to be (though an informal label) “high-functioning.” Still, Gio finds it difficult to always catch onto other people’s emotional hints or understand why certain things warranted an emotional reaction. He’d much prefer it if you simply were up front and said what you needed to say then be done with it. 

He is extremely organized, almost to the point of obsession, both with the items around him and in his day. There are schedules in place and when those change without warning, he gets very frustrated and irritated, sometimes to the point where he’s no longer able to complete the task at hand. If things are moved around while someone is there, he’s very likely to know and even more likely to call it out. Often times, he can be a bit judgmental about other’s organizing skills, though as an adult he’s been a lot less rude about it than he was in his juvenile years. 

For Gio, it’s alright to do the wrong thing for the right reasons. As long as he feels it’s justified for someone in need, he’s willing to bend/break a few rules. After all, there are some rules of society that he just doesn’t understand why they’re rules to begin with due to lack of logical soundness, so adhering to them can be a little difficult. 

That being said, he’s not a big fan of lying. It always makes him feel squeamish inside and he’s really not good at keeping secrets if it feels like a lie. It goes towards his preference that people were just direct with each other and said what was on their mind. Lying bypasses that and makes things more difficult than they need to be and should really only be used in serious situations where there are very high stakes - even then, best not to tell him the truth and ask him to lie about it to anyone else.

Isabel was abandoned at the side of a hospital entrance with an anonymous note stating her parents were simply too young and naive to care for her. They still had a hope and future for themselves and her being in the picture would take away from that. It was a nurse who was coming off her shift that spotted the young babe. The labor and delivery staff called her Isabel and monitored her care until she was taken by social work and placed in the foster care system. She was in and out of homes for almost eight years before she finally landed in a safe, loving, home in Grimmbrook. Isabel was adopted by Mauricio and Ester Dumas. It wasn’t the most luxurious home and she didn’t have a million options of activities and hobbies to involve herself in, but what she had was always enough and desired nothing more than the support and love from her parents.

Moving into a new home and community, Isabel had some difficulties relating to the kids in her neighborhood and school. All of them had grown up together and some even heard from their parents that she was adopted which only made her that much more of an outsider. Since none of the kids wanted to play with her, she spent her time reading everything she could find in the house. Soon enough she spent a lot of summer afternoon on her neighbor’s balcony reading since they were the town’s librarian. They supplied Isabel with a surplus of books every year, challenging her mind, and asking her input and observations. She loved that time, exploring other realities apart from her own and it made it easier navigating through making friends as she grew up while she kept her eye on her studies and future. 

All was well up until a month after her sixteenth birthday. Her father, a self-made car salesman business, had to be bought out. With a new competitor in Upperland, business was dwindling and not desired to declare bankruptcy, Mauricio gave up his business for the future of his daughter and wife. What made matters worse is that while her father was filing for unemployment, the Du Ponts, one Grimmbrook’s wealthiest families took ownership of the apartment complex her family resided in. With minimum income and few late rental payments, her family was pretty much homeless. It took a toll on her parents, both of them working multiple jobs, and even Isabel taking up washing dishes at the diner to help with expenses. To make matters worse, her mother couldn’t take it anymore. She had fallen into a depression, hardly able to even get out of bad. It was a Thursday night, when Isabel found her mother unconscious in their bathroom with a bottle of pills splattered over the floor. She was devastated. Her father, enraged. Mauricio was blinded by his anger and had his sights set out on to destroy the Du Ponts for destroying their lives. 

Isabel had worked her ass off to continue to provide for their household and excelling in her classes and ended up with a scholarship to study fashion. She didn’t want to leave her father in this state, but he encouraged her to pursue her dreams and not throw it away because of him. So, she left him for four years, visiting him during the breaks and holidays. His spirit had shifted immensely and all Isabel was trying to do was bring back some light into his life again. Fortunately, she was able to make a way for herself through small opportunities being a stylist for those in Upperland in the years following her return from college. With an investment, she was able to open up her own fashion boutique four years ago. The Rose Petal has been something that brought some hope to her father again, which pleased her very much.
