Thanks for telling me about it! It’s been nothing but a great time here and I’m glad that I get to be part of such a stellar group filled with amazing writers and people. 

Fawn was simple, because Bambi was my fav childhood movie growing up, so of course I had to play the role. Wes, was another simple choice just because I wanted someone on the opposite spectrum of the kindhearted and loving Fawn. So easy decision! 

Thank you, thank you, thank you! In no way or shape do I think my writing is perfect at all haha, but that means a lot to me. It’s def always important that I am able to play characters rather differently and glad that is being displayed! 

“Hi stranger. How many rounds do I have to buy you to save me from that misogynistic asshole over there? He thinks that I would be submissive to him, staying at home and merely doing household chores and raising children for him. The nerve,” she muttered as she waved her empty glass to the bartender. “Please, I beg of you. I’ll do anything.” @mcnstrosite​

He smiled widely at her. “You look great. You look like you were born to wear that.” He tossed his helmet between his hands. He wasn’t used to wearing a helmet, but they were all about safety here. Gross. “I’m not going to let you do that, Fawn. You came all this way. You’ll regret it if you don’t try it once. You can’t have hot dogs till you’ve gone.” He moved to stand in between her and the hot dog cart. He would block her path if he had to. At this point, he felt they might as well be committed. They both agreed to this after all.

“Liar. You’re just saying that to ease my mind, which is not working,” she sighed running her hand through her hair. Fawn had been excited all week about going to the class. She had event sent stupid biking memes to Joe in anticipation. Now, they’d gotten here and she felt like she was going to pass out at any moment. The Goldwin was built stronger than this and for some reason she couldn’t shake the nerves off. “You’re being mean,” she pouted, crossing her arms as he stood in front of her and the lurking cart. As she watched the class instructor rally all the students, she looked at him again. “I’ll buy you anything if we just sneak out now. Come on!”

He wanted to lash out, just as he had done a few times with the girl already, asking her why she always had to be so critical of him, but Chad bit it back. She was critical probably because she had every right to be around him, as hard of a pill as that was for him to swallow. So instead, he just took a deep breath and tried to think his answer out, trying to anticipate any way he could say something that would come across as a challenge or an insult. “No…this isn’t a tactic or…I’m not trying anything. Well, anything other than just saying sorry and hoping that you’ll accept it as a token of my apology. Doesn’t mean I’m expecting forgiveness I just…figured it wouldn’t hurt to do one nice thing today.” Not that he didn’t think she could purchase her own meal, but who didn’t love having someone pay for your order?

Doing this, trying to humble himself to the point of a legitimate apology felt uncomfortable for Chad as he tried to once again think about what he wanted to say. “I just…I actually came here for some coffee, but then I saw you and figured…maybe, now would be a good time to actually try and apologize, you know? I…honestly hadn’t thought about that whole incident, much. Shit had gotten pretty intense around that time, though he didn’t expect Fawn to understand his conditions of life.

Everything felt strained as Chad cleared his throat then seemed to look right past Fawn as he spoke. “So…what have you been up to? Work on anything interesting?”

“Okay.” He honestly was taking her off guard by this whole kindness routine. Not that he wasn’t capable of such actions, but she couldn’t help but wonder what was in it for him? Was he truly trying to empathize and get to a place where the two of them could exist and be cordial with one another? Either way, she’d just be observant of his mannerisms and feel him out just as her father had taught her time and time again when met with contention from another.  “Why would you be concerned if it didn’t affect you in anyway?” Some people were just wired that way. Not to give a damn about others and the world around them unless if affected them personally in some capacity. It was the mentality that many people thrived on and she was never could see how one could navigate life in such a way. However, it wasn’t her place to judge and all she could do was stay on her own path and treat people well. “Umm...this is weird. You do realize that right?” She didn’t want him to feel obligated to strike up conversation with her, but if he was extending an olive branch the least she could do was be reciprocal towards it. “But, since you’ve asked...I’ve been working on branding for this green energy company out in California which has consumed a lot of time recently. They’re the biggest client yet, so it’ll be huge if they approve of everything, you know?”

He ducked his head, smiling sheepishly as Fawn sat next to him. He brought a hand to the back of his neck. “You weren’t supposed to see me here,” he joked. He didn’t mind if she saw him; he appreciated her company. He felt like they really bonded the last time they were here together. “I have to admit, I had fun. It was nice doing something less common than normal.” In a surprising twist of fate, he was in a good mood. There was still a lot on his plate, but he felt like he was making progress with Madison’s case at the very least. Even if it wasn’t a big step, every victory counted. “I’m good, and I mean it. Things might be looking up.” He knocked his knuckles twice against the bar. He didn’t want to risk jinxing it, seeing as there was still Jillian’s case and the mist. “How are you? Anything new or exciting going on in your life?” 

“I’m not to witness Dan Mickey enjoying himself and not being a closed off stress ball for once? How dare you try to still away from me that joy?” she chuckled. Fawn had really enjoyed getting to know the man outside of just the title he held in his career path. There was always more than people let on and she was glad that she was allowing her the chance to see the different levels that made him peel back a bit. “Less common than normal? You’re so weird you know that right?” He had such an odd way of phrasing things, but she always appreciated. He never ceased to put a grin on her face. “That’s great to hear! Looking up in what way?” After placing her drink order she helped herself to the bar peanuts and was just happy to be in his company.  “Pretty much just been working, which is always good. Make the whole dream of owning my own business one day that more possible, you know?” 

Most exercise for Danielle these days consisted with lessons at Esme’s dance studio when she thoroughly avoided Maggie whenever the other was in a mood for an outdoor job. Something strange was going on though and made that next to impossible with most trails were closed to the public with the woods and lake. And she hadn’t wanted to tell anyone what had happened at the cabin the other weekend, leaving her to focus her excess energy on yoga whenever she could afford a class. Or find someone to go with like Fawn who had been up for the challenge as she gave the other a tired smile while cleaning up her own mat and block. “It’s not as easy as some people make it out to look. There’s always an element of strength to hold myself upright and not collapse right here and now on my mat,” she added with an appreciative nod. “Okay good, I thought it was my stomach that I was hearing but if it was yours then I think we’re both in agreement to grab something to eat. Maybe even a drink or two if you’re up for it.”

“I thought I was about to fall on my face on multiple occasions to be honest.” Even for someone who thought they had a pretty strong core and sense of balance, the class was challenging and Fawn was now considering attending on regularly basis in addition to her current workout regimen. “Hey!” she chuckled whacking Danielle with her towel gently at the comment. The Goldwin honestly was trying her best to make it unnoticeable about her growling belly, but food and drinks sounded great. She definitely worked herself up an appetite. “That sounds wonderful!” As they headed out the studio and walked down to the pub, Fawn was happy and content at the small moments. Despite the strange occurrences in town, she was grateful for the building relationships and friendships recently. “Anything new with you as of late? Have you talked to Esme about that potential job opportunity?”
