You had been asking Johnny to deal with that thing for almost ten days now.
Honestly it was the biggest fight you had ever had. The past two years had been great! His deployments were hard and same with the distance. But he had always made such an effort to keep in touch when he was able.
Constant texts and phone calls, hell he even mailed you letters.
You had moved in together recently. Bought a nice little place in the countryside that was a bit of a fixer upper. You'd need to update the plumbing and bathrooms. Probably the kitchen as well. But it was stunning and had its own little bit of wooded land.
Perfect.
Except it came with the things most old houses did.
Like the massive fucking spider on the back porch.
He was recently home after a short deployment, nursing a sore arm from some fall that he definitely downplayed. You had been begging him for days now to get rid of it.
"Johnny please! I can't even go on the porch! It's fucking massive!"
"Why? It's not hurtin' anything out there bon. And my arm is still bothering me."
And it had been back and forth like this for days. He was driving you fucking mental. Always some excuse and shaking his head.
It was going to be spring soon and you had been wanting to start some plants in the back but with the fucking thing there, that was a no.
Yesterday you had ordered some cedar planter beds from a local Facebook seller. And you were already making a list for the nursery of everything you two wanted to plant.
You had finally put your foot down that evening after a tense dinner. He was in the middle of loading the dinner into the dishwasher when you unloaded his full name. His facial expressions were a journey but he stayed silent and looked expectantly at you.
"You'll be sleeping on the couch tonight unless you get kill that fucking spider John." You said flatly with a significant look towards the porch.
"I..." He hesitated a moment, briefly searching your face. Looking for negotiation. He finished putting the bundle of utensils he was holding into the tray and stood up.
"I'm bringing home those planters tomorrow John." You stated. You kept your voice even but the upset look on his face broke you a little inside. "I want to be able to start lettuce in those soon. I was going to get dirt tomorrow. I am absolutely terrified of it. Please!"
He paused with the dishes and nodded his head. Relief rippled over you.
"aye, ok. I'm sorry bon. It's just the spiders keep the bugs away. They ain't gonna bother ya if ya don't bother them." He quickly followed up with a soft smile "How about you let me move her. I'll put 'er in a bucket and take her to the wood shed."
"Johnny!"
"I promise I'll be in charge of the wood and you don't have to go there. Ever!" He offered with what he hoped was a reassuring grin "come on bon she's a prime specimen."
"She?!" You groaned in frustration. Why was he like this?
"Yeah! She's massive! Gotta be a female! And that big she's probably had babies in a cocoon-"
You let out an audible shriek of frustration and buried your head in your hands. Johnny had always talked about his science classes he took to get his degree in chemistry. But he wanted to go back again sometime to study biology... And he loved animals and that included bugs.
"John-ny" you said in exasperation, emphasizing the two syllables.
The Scot jumped to attention and began to half jog over to you. "It's okay Bonnie. I'm sorry. I'll find the sac and move them all."
His rough hands grasped yours as his thumbs ran over your knuckles. "How about I spend the rest of the evening cleaning that deck spick and span for you. No spiders, no webs, no leaves, no nothing. And I'll help you with the planters tomorrow. Promise."
Your shoulders sagged a bit in defeat but you nodded. "Alright... But if you put her in the wood shed I am NEVER going out there."
Putting his hands up in mock surrender he agreed. "Absolutely. Would never ask ya to. I'll make sure you got plenty of wood by the stove."
You watched him warily as he kissed your cheek and then booked it to the closet and got out the broom and headed out to the back.
Well at least he was going to deal with it.
You had cried in the shower later. All the frustrations bubbling out and washing down the drain. Purposely staying in bedroom after, if he caught the damn thing you knew he'd want to show you. He was probably taking pictures to show his teammates.
So instead you laid in the bed, curled up and dooms srolling on tiktok. You had fallen down a hole of weird food recipes and had gotten at least four dinner ideas save.
What the fuck is gatorwine?
The opening of the door made you jump as he slipped in. "Sweetheart? I'm all done?"
Rolling over in bed to face him you grumbled "You better not be covered in spiders!"
"naw, I showered right away."
Your eyebrows shot up as you spied your boyfriend naked and wet except for the towel on his hips. He began to stroll over to his dresser that sat in the corner of the room.
"oh." You squeaked out in pleasant surprise. Sometimes you couldn't believe hot fuckin' fit he was.
"oh?" -He asked back as he grinned and brushed his wet hair back. Stopping in his tracks he turned to you again. "Ya know... I think I've worked myself up quite an appetite cleaning the deck. Kinda hungry."
"John-ny" you said sternly but your knowing grin made the tone lose all meaning.
"Could use a little bedtime snack love." He said with an excessively flirtatious tone. And you melted.
He had done his best to make it right and well... You were perfectly fine with him making it up to you.
You tossed the blanket off to the side you giggled and waved him over. "Oh alright John. Don't go pouting on me."
A shriek of surprise and joy escaped you as he jumped and dove towards you on the bed. Doing some sort of extremely exaggerated growl as he crawled over to your hips. Tugging at the waistband of your pajamas with a familiar grin.

"Christ, what died in your bed today?" Josh asked with a raised brow.
Ok, you may have slammed your locker harder than necessary. But Josh was a fucking gossip, and the last thing you needed was him running to Graves with the next thing you said. The owner of Shadow Coffee had switched your shift last fucking second.
Now you were closing again.
You just closed alllll last week, and you were pissed. It was fucking with your sleep schedule like nothing else. The coffee shop closed at 11, and the closing routine kept you there for another half hour. This meant you could only catch the last bus of the night at 11:43. Then, you wouldn't get home until half past midnight, which meant you wouldn't get to sleep until 1 or 2 am.
You had been asking for some earlier shifts for months now.
So you bit your lip and lied, "Oh, the cat peed on my laundry last night, I'm just annoyed about it."
He didn't believe you, if the smirk was anything to go by. But to your relief, he nodded and pulled off his slate grey apron. "Well, try to smile in front of the customers. You don't need any more negative reviews."
You gritted your teeth till you were sure you'd break a tooth. Ah yes. The shitty review some dude left you after you turned his date offer down. The creep had hung around until closing and wouldn't leave. Shooed him out and everything. You had needed to hide so long after the store was closed that you missed the fucking bus and had to walk home.
If you were being honest, it had really freaked you out. But what had Nathan, the night shift manager, done? Nothing. Rolled his eyes. Told you to take the compliment and to give him your number next time.
Fuck you were so sick of them. You loved your job. Making coffee and drinks was quite fun, and you enjoyed it. But the whole store was poisoning it.
You had even brought it up with Graves, asking him so politely to please look at the security footage. And to give him credit, he had nodded in understanding and had a look. With instructions that "If he waits outside after closing again, take a taxi or call the cops."
It hadn't exactly made you feel much better, at least he believed you... But the bar was on the floor with the clowns you worked with.
Now dressed properly and clocked in, you emerged from the back room. Hair back and shirt smoothed down. Graves was such a stickler for his uniform policy. God, it was such a pain.
Well, you'd have to deal with Josh for a few more hours before he went home, and Nathan was off tonight. You could see Chris' red curly hair near the blenders, so you imagined he'd be your second until 10:30.
Graves was probably upstairs in his office. Matteo would be here till 7... then who...
Who was the new kid in the Shadow Coffee cap?
You didn't see him earlier. He looked young... probably still in high school. Black hair and a slightly crooked nose. He was laughing and talking with Josh and Matteo.
There's no way he hired someone new?
Well... if he did, he's finally hired someone to replace you on nights. Thank fucking god.
You grimaced internally as Josh called your name and waved you over. A tried and true customer service smile was plastered on your face as you headed out onto the floor.
"Hey, so this is my cousin Jamie!" Josh said, his face beaming with a satisfied grin.
A sour taste flooded your mouth.
No...
"Hi..." You had greeted weakly as the young boy took your hand and shook it eagerly.
"Hey! Josh mentioned you earlier. Said you knew your shit and to ask you if I had questions." Jamie said with a grin, and you couldn't help but preen just slightly under the flattery.
He seemed nice enough and didn't give off any weird vibes like his cousin did. "Yeah, no worries. Sometimes the machines can be a bit finicky, especially the blender on the far left. Let us know if it gives you any grief."
"Cool!" Jamie replied and turned back to his cousin, "So is it really true that we're not allowed to go to 141 Shoppe while working here?"
Matteo, the greaseball who had trained you last year, groaned and threw his head back. "Yup. Graves puts it in the contract."
Taking your place at the front counter, you continued to listen to the group of men gossip like parrots. The after-school rush would be coming soon, and you're hands were full with prep.
"Yeah, Graves and Laswell have some sort of beef going back like... decades."
"Really? Who was here first?"
"141 was. But she had to close because of some plumbing issues for like two months and a renovation. Graves swooped in when this place went up for rent two doors down."
"Make sure you avoid the fucker in the black facemask. He's like... tall as fuck and fucking mean."
"Yeah, his nametag says Ghost... don't go near him."
Looking a bit concerned, you could see Jamie nod, eyes wide at all the new information. "Ghost? No worries, Josh. Won't fuck with that."
"Hey, let me show you the blenders. We're about to get the rush." Chris called over. And to your relief, the little chat session ended as the newbie trailed off.
You saw the bus come around the corner. And two dozen or more teens piled out. Alright, smoothie time was a go.
That was one thing Shadow Coffee did a bit better than 141. They had a bigger tea culture, and you guys did more frozen drinks.
"Well... whaddya think?"
Josh almost made you jump as he sidled up next to you.
Did he really think you'd say something negative about his cousin in front of him? You learned your lesson before. "Jamie seems nice." You said genuinely, the kid had been pretty pleasant after all. "Did Graves hire him for the nights? I was hoping with all my requests I put in-"
Josh cut you off, his shit-eating grin a mile wide, "No. Jamie's going to be our new opener."
You couldn't help but stew about it all day. How fucking dare Graves hire some snot-nosed runt to open who doesn't even know what a French press is.
This was it! You were going to fucking quit or go on strike or something.
It was exactly 5:05 when you saw him come down the stairs. Grey slacks and a white button-up did little to hide the sleeze you know lurked under it. H
He was moving quickly, and even after bolting after him, you barely managed to catch up with him behind the store. Just seconds before he got into his silver BMW.
“Mr. Graves? Sir?”
“What?”
You suddenly felt yourself shrink in his gaze. His face was warm, but you caught the annoyance in his eyes. He didn't elaborate further and seemed to be waiting for your answer.
It took way too much of your strength to meekly bring up the slap in the face. “I thought I had asked for earlier shifts... I sent the request form in and everything. But Josh said Jamie is going to be the new opener...”
Trying your best not to panic as sweat dripped down your neck and you rambled a moment, “Can't Jamie work nights, sir? They're slow and probably better for someone new.”
The way Graves said your name made you flinch. You could see him roll his eyes as he brushed you off. “Did Josh tell you how old Jamie is? The kid's 17. I'm not trusting some high schooler with the deposits. Stop fussing so much.”
Rage gurgled in your stomach, but you managed to hold it down. Graves continued as he began to walk back out to the parking lot. “Listen, you know Nathan is going to be heading to college in September. You can be night manager in 6 months. I promise you'll get a bonus too. So stop causing scenes, alright.”
Your jaw was now on the grubby cement ground of the alley as he physically waved you away.
Slam!
The driver's side door shut, and before you could even process what had happened, your boss was peeling out of the parking lot.
Your brain glitched hard. And found yourself standing there, simply appalled and your mind racing.
You didn't want to be a night manager. This was fucking bullshit. Hot tears splashed uncontrollably down your face.
Where the fuck did he get off?
“Hey there.. uh? You alright there, love?”
Your eyes blinked up, and you quickly became aware of your surroundings. Turning around, you looked at the entrance of the alley where two men were sharing a cigarette.
Both were looking at you with curiosity and mild concern. Heat burned your cheeks as you recognized them.
Kyle and Johnny.
Two of the main baristas at the 141 and extremely popular with the ladies. Mr. Mohawk was busy puffing away, looking very interested as Gaz waited for an answer.
Oh so they had seen the entire thing. Fuck.
Furiously, you wiped the wet streaks off your face, and you rushed back into the back entrance of the coffee shop. You could barely hold yourself together as you plugged the code into the door three different times before you got it right.
“Oi lass did he-”
The heavy steel door slammed behind you as you immediately ducked into the washroom, crying. This job was officially the worst thing ever.
It had been fucking dead for the last two hours. It was ridiculous. You honestly never understood Graves' insistence on being open an hour later than 141. Something about taking their late-night customers.
Except there were no bloody customers. This wasn't fucking Starbucks. But you stood behind the counter putting together stupid to-go boxes until right before 11 pm.
Last time you had snuck out to the dumpster before closing the store, Josh had snitched and had gotten you written up.
Cunt.
You had ended crying in the bathroom for a solid ten minutes before composing yourself and rejoining the floor. You had managed to shut Josh up with a sharp look and a grumble about 'monthly problems'. But the fucker had given you weird looks until he went home.
It was pure relief when you were able to flick the main lights off and lock the front door at 11.
As you went about the closing duties, you couldn't help but fight off tears. You had hoped this job could be it for you. You had never been able to afford college, and even if it sounded stupid... You liked working at a coffee shop. You were good at your job, and you overheard some of the wildest conversations all the time.
Finally, you gathered the three garbage bags and gloved your hands to take them out. With care, you slipped your cell into your pocket and headed out towards the alley. The cold spring night air hit your bare arms, and a shiver ran down your back. Thank god for that fuzzy cream hoodie you had waiting for you in your locker. It was your favourite, even if Nathan said it made you look like a chihuahua.
The remark had not been appreciated.
As you walked along the side of the building, the fluorescent lights illuminating your surroundings, you could see that once again, there were a couple of people smoking. This time, one of them was a smaller figure, probably a woman.
They were standing behind the 141 building. The man wasn't Kyle or Soap, but you recognized the hat of the manager, John Price. You had no idea if they had seen you, but for now, they seemed engaged as they murmured back and forth to each other, sharing a dying cigarette. Which meant if you were quick and quiet, you would be able to avoid them.
You shuffled up to the dumpster and used your key to unlock and open it. Out of the corner of your eye, you could see two sets of blue eyes on you, but you did your best to ignore them. Graves pretty much forbade everyone from talking to the 141.
The first bags you tossed in without much fuss, but the third bag was heavy. Your first throw failed spectacularly, and it landed loudly back on the ground.
Face now burning, you picked up the garbage bag again. This time, you braced and threw the bag up at a better angle and-
Thud!
It landed straight back on the cement.
Your jaw dropped in disbelief. How was it so fucking heavy? It's not like you were weak! Someone must have poured fucking water in it.
"John, mind giving her a hand?"
...Kate Laswell. You recognized her softer voice instantly. Smooth, calm, and with a hint of amusement. You had only seen her a couple of times, the most memorable was watching her talk to Kyle in the parking lot a few months ago. She had been dressed in this black pencil skirt that you still couldn't get out of your mind. The woman was stunning. There was no denying it. She was the type of woman you could only dream of.
"Course... Here, love, I'll take that."
As you turned towards the voices, you felt your belly flip. John was now walking over, carrying two bags of his own.
You awkwardly opened and then closed your mouth, and a weak protest of yours was waved off. "Don't worry 'bout it. Let me get it. No sense in making you struggle."
Price tossed all the bags in with ease as you took a few steps back, and then a clicking sound got your attention.
Turning to the side and looking back at the brick wall, you could see Laswell lighting up another cigarette. The blonde woman's hair was tied back in a messy loose bun. A few hairs out of place, but she still looked sleek and professional, wearing dark slacks and a white button-up shirt.
The first few buttons were undone, and it took all your strength not to stare. You turned back to the Price as he walked back over. “Listen, I gotta ask... You ok? My boys told me you were trying to talk to Graves, and he just fucked off?” he asked as he peeled his gloves off.
The question caught you off guard, and you found yourself staring at him blankly for a moment. Laswell interrupted before you could stammer out an answer, though. “Listen, I know that man far too well. John you mind closing up and letting us girls have a chat?”
Your eyes traveled back to her sculpted face, and her words sent a ping of shivers down your back. She was looking at you with a warmth you haven't seen in a long time.
And with a hunger you haven't seen since that last hook-up with your ex seven months ago (terrible idea, honestly).
It seemed that John didn't even question it. You heard him chuckle and toss out a “Night love” as he disappeared into the back of the coffee shop, the steel door thudded shut behind him.
“Let me guess? He hired someone else for the morning shifts?”
The question caught you completely off guard. Your eyes met her knowing blue ones, and you blinked. A moment passed, and you quietly asked back, “How did you know?”
“I know a lot,” She said honestly. “Your coworkers gossip a lot in the back.” The blonde finished her puff and offered you the cigarette as she slowly exhaled. Smoke whipped around her face as you took a few steps closer and accepted the smoke.
Honestly, after today, you wouldn't say no. But you did ask her cautiously, “And I should believe you why?”
A few moments passed as she sighed before a shrug. “You don't have to believe me, but our security camera picks up some of the chatter in the alley. But they are a shitty little gang. Real jealous of you. You sound like the only competent person over there, honestly.”
Hot smoke slowly fills your lungs, and you pass the smoke back to her. You hold it in as you process this. The heat from your lungs begins to travel down as you feel her eyes roaming over you.
Of course, Laswell had to be fucking stunning and hot and everything you want in a woman. But if you talked to her and Graves would find out you'd be in so much trouble. “I-...thanks... Listen, I shouldn't be-”
“Chatting to me?” she finished and raised an eyebrow before you nodded in confirmation.
“You deserve better than having him as a boss,” the blonde said as she shook her head. “I don't tell my employees who they can talk to.”
A bit at a loss for words, you shrug, mumbling out “Not a lot of jobs out there.. took me months just to find this one.”
Laswell took another puff and shuffled a bit closer, voice lowering a hair, “I get it... Listen, I've been looking into promoting one of my guys. We've been doing a lot more deliveries lately. I'm going to need Kyle to help with them. Nikolai can't do them all by himself. Never realized there was this much of a market for dry tea before. But it means I need someone new for a front-of-house position.”
“I-” you stood and looked blankly at her. There was no way she just..
Her slender, smooth hand touched your arm as she passed you back the smoke. Which caused your belly to grow hot.
“You want to hire me?” you managed to squeak out. Laswell waited patiently as you stammered through a few protests and excuses. Before managing to blurt out “But Graves-”
“Doesn't value you. And he should.”
Her blunt answer caused your cheeks to heat up, and you glanced down the empty alley. You rolled the seed in your head, planting the idea whether you wanted or not, as you puffed on the dying cigarette. Pulling the smoke into your lungs until it went out.
A bit bashful at finishing the smoke, you gave her an apologetic look. Slowly, she moved forward and leaned towards you. “You look like someone who's a team player, too.”
Everything was burning now. Your face. Your chest. Your lungs. Your cunt.
You nodded in agreement, only to be met by her moving closer and beckoning you closer with a crooked finger. As if you were pulled by some magnetic force, you couldn't help but meet her. Soft lip crashing onto yours.
It's like your entire body went loose in stunned relief.
She was kissing you.
Not just kissing, but cupping a hand behind your head and back as you stumbled back into the brick wall. Your mouth opened, and your blazed lungs forced the smoke out into her mouth. The older woman let out a pleased noise as her thumb stroked your ear.
All the stress that had been bubbling under the surface seemed to explode. Was this probably a bad idea? Yes. But right now, you didn't care. Her kiss was perfect. Soft yet firm. Everything you needed.
The hand on your back moved to your hip, perfectly manicured nails tracing the thin fabric of your shirt. A soft moan escaped your throat into the kiss, and your thigh tensed and shook.
Laswell reluctantly broke the kiss, smoke billowing out of her mouth. You could hear the pity in her voice, “Poor girl, he's been working you to the bone...So stressed.”
The nicotine rush made your head swim.
You let out a choked “Please...”
But more words wouldn't come, and it was like your brain had a jam somewhere. You didn't even know what you wanted. You just knew you needed it. Her hand slipped under your apron and tugged at your jeans before pausing.
Waiting.
Her mouth kissed your ear, “You poor thing... So pent up. You want some relief?”
“Please,” you choked out again, eyes stinging in shame
It seemed to be enough for her.
Strong fingers pulled your pants forward enough for her soft hand to slip in. You hadn't realized how wet you had gotten. It was soaking the cotton of your panties and making it cling to your skin. It had been so fucking long since-
The thought vanished from your head as a finger rubbed against your clit, the wet fabric against the nub sparking jolts of pleasure through you. A moan nearly escaped your mouth, but another kiss swallowed it.
You weren't sure how long you two were standing in the alley like this, but by the time she slipped her hand into your panties, you were begging desperately. Clinging to the woman who had you pinned up against the wall. The moment she slipped a finger into your warm cunt you saw white. Her pace started slow, but she seemed intent on ramping it up.
Thank god her mouth was on yours to cover the squeals.
Time slowed down as you found yourself spreading your legs further. Your body begging for more.
Tears burst from your eyes as your body convulsed and shook, accidentally breaking the kiss. Not a full orgasm, but still pleasurable.
“You need a little more...” Her silken voice carried in the silent alley.
“Please-fuck! Laswell-”
“Kate,” She interrupted.
You bit your lip and nearly wept, “Kate, please!”
A second finger joined the first, the heel of her hand pressing down just right. You shoved your head into her shirt to muffle your scream.
The long, steady strokes felt like they ripped your brain out of your body. Over and over. She didn't seem to care that your nails were digging into her arms as you sobbed.
“It's alright”
Her words were sending you careening as your entire body convulsed.
“Cum for me-”
That did it. You thrashed in her grip as you came. Breathing heavily and sobbing apologies loudly, praying no one had overheard you. Panting into her chest.
“There we go, sweetheart... Let's clean you up.”
Thankfully, it had only taken a moment for you to try and compose yourself as Laswell fixed you up. Your face flushed with blood as she smoothed your apron down for you.
“My offer still stands... You can start tomorrow morning. Come knock on the back door at 6 and I'll have a contract waiting. Set morning shifts five days a week. Medical, dental, tips, four weeks vacation, and a dozen sick days. Standard for my employees.”
She paused, and you could see the corner of her lip twitching up. “Maybe a little bit of favouritism as well. You are much cuter than the rest of my staff after all.”
Your mouth felt dry as a wave of elation washed through you.
“Yeah,” The words had tumbled out of your mouth before you knew it. “That-... that would be amazing! Kate... Thank you... um.”
Kate leaned towards you and gave you a gentle peck on the cheek. At the same time, she slipped something into your hand and whispered in your ear, “Take a taxi home too, sweetheart, you look exhausted.”
As she stood back and patted your hip before nodding her head in the direction of Shadow Coffee. “I'll watch you get in. Off you go.”
Kate looked into your eyes once more before you hurried towards the steel door. Glancing down into your hand to see two crisp bills. Ten times what you needed for the cab.
You glanced back at her for a moment as you punched in the code, blushing as she rewarded you with a wink.
Hey folks!!! I know it's been so long since I uploaded anything. But I'm getting near the end of a one-shot that I've been working on. It started out as a 2.5K piece for a prompt challenge... and now of course it's now ballooned up and I'm sitting at 6K now. BUT I'm getting close to finished.
I'd like to introduce you to my Ghoap x Reader piece that I adamantly refuse to title.
So he's the intro to the Blue Collar AU along with a bonus peek.
The 141 has been retired for years now since the Taskforce was dissolved due to some bureaucratic nightmare. The group of them opted to retire together rather than be reassigned separately. With funds from Nikolai, he and Price started Chimera Landscaping and Construction. And what began as a handyman group to keep busy had grown into a thriving company with a dozen employees.
Last fall, you were hired on as a landscaper. You had always had a green thumb; plants seemed to thrive under your care no matter what you did. You were recommended to them by a family friend, and now, months later, you couldn't be happier.
There was only a single problem with this… well… two problems… Johnny and Simon.
And now that Simon's sandwich wrapper lay discarded, he had lost all his subtlety. You could feel him looking at you again, his eyes tracing over your body. He had taken a few steps closer to where you stood and leaned against the cold white kitchen counter.
"What?! "
Oof, ok, so you hadn't intended on snapping at him, but his response was just as quick, a smirk plastered on his face: "You still hungry?"
"No."
"You sure?… You've been lookin' at me like you're gonna take a bite outta me all day."
The heat that had settled into your cheeks travelled down your neck and into your chest… then lower. "Sorry… I don't mean to."
"Don't apologize… I like it." Simon responded in a low voice, a now playful grin plastered on his face. "You can take a bite if that's what you want."
To your shock, he slowly reached forward, watching your reaction as he slipped his pointer finger into your belt loop and pulled you closer to him. And your stomach dropped. So he did want this.. ok… stay calm… fuck he looked so good and you were inches apart.
"What about Johnny?"
It's like your brain had forced the words out of your mouth.
He was so close now, his breath was on your ear when he curiously asked, "Yeah… What about Johnny?"
"You two are together…?"
"Mhmm…"
"Then I should leave." You gasped as you stepped back, but his finger remained hooked on your jeans, gently holding you in place.
"Listen…" He rumbled as his eyes met yours again, "Johnny and I have a… understanding."
Something doesn't feel quite so right. He can't quite put his finger on it... He must be forgetting something... But right now he's got bigger concerns.
"Christ on a fuckin bike!"
Gaz swears loudly as he pulls himself up the last few feet of the slushy, snow-covered embankment. The grip on his gloves helps as he finally manages to pull himself up to flat ground. He crawls through the fresh snow, finally coming to rest on his knees, the chill of the winter air against him.
Today's hike has turned into a fucking disaster.
First, the landscape looks different when snowy. He has been to his uncle's cottage dozens of times, but never in the winter. And so when he heads out for a day trip on the loop around the small mountain, one he has hiked many times… The last thing he expects is to get turned around for a few hours.
Second, he has just taken a nasty spill down a small ravine and landed hard on the rocky bank of the creek. An embarrassing and amateur mistake for a man of his calibre. And now he is fairly confident he has given himself a black eye when he smacked his face in the mud.
Three deep breaths later he tries to shake it off best he can.
Removing his glove for a moment, he yanks a handkerchief out of the small pack on his pack. A miracle he hasn't lost it in the fall. He starts cleaning the mud off his face, wincing at the tender spot on his forehead.
A few streaks of fresh blood are visible on his fingers and Gaz groans in response.
"That's bloody brilliant…"
Sighing deeply, he pulls his cell out of his pocket and goes to unlock it but first frowns.
13%
Shit… why is it so low?? He doesn't have a signal which he expects…. but the low battery…
He was listening to music earlier right?
Whatever.
Returning to his feet, cold, damp, and now fairly miserable he mutters: "Sitting around won't fix this, but a hot bath and a cup of tea will certainly help."
It is an exhausting hour and a half to get to the tail end of the trail. Gaz isn't too badly off although he notices he is sore, but certainly nothing like some of the shit he has been through on deployments. He leaves his phone silently in his pocket though. With that low of a battery, he wants to save it for if he needs it.
He can spot a group of spindly trees as he comes around a bend and blinks. He got a light headache a while ago, but he's been ignoring it. The trees were…
Yes! Those are the apple trees he stops at in the fall.
Now sure of his location Gaz continues forward with more confidence. Within another 20 meters, he climbs up a ridge he needs to pass.
Gaz is familiar with it. Usually, he stops here for lunch for a rest and enjoys the view. You can see a good chunk of the valley, including the cabin. But he is now running so far behind. The sunset is beginning to tinge the grey sky with a hint of pink.
Frowning he shrugs his backpack off one shoulder and unzips it. Digging in he does pull out a power bar and his canteen. He can afford a few seconds to eat something. He still has a ways to go.
Squinting, he looks over the landscape as he chews on a snack. Ignoring a slight ache in the head, he glances back down at the cabin. While only a speck in the distance, it's still a ways away.
It was an old thing building. Something about his Uncle's grandfather building it. No electricity, though there were some propane lights and a stove. He always brought along a portable power source of course so Gaz is going to have to charge his phone on it as soon as he gets back.
Then he sees it. A car driving slowly down the road… A large grey SUV of some type. Four doors and tinted windows.
Gaz furrows his brows as the car drives down the road toward his cabin… alarm bells ring out in his head. There wasn't another neighbour for a solid 15 miles. They were coming here… he didn't remember inviting anyone over.
The last of his water goes down the hatch as he shoves the canteen aggressively back in the pack and tosses it back onto his back. Moving along the ridge a dozen meters he watches the scene, his heart beating against his chest.
Holding his breath he watches in concern as the car parked in front of his cabin, now half out of his sight, blocked by the building. He sees two people get out on the driver's side and his stomach drops to the bottom of the mountain.
They were dressed in all black. Squinting hard he just barely makes out that they are masked… black balaclavas he thinks.
This was bad… Gaz felt a swirl of panic welling up in his gut. One figure runs up to the side window and he nearly flinches when he sees the figure break it with a crowbar. He tampers it down as best he can digs around in his pocket and pulls out his phone. Glancing down, he pulls out his phone and sees a single signal bar. He looks back at the cabin and immediately dials - on auto-pilot.
One ring…
Three rings…
Feeling like he was having a heart attack on the fifth ring, Gaz could hear the line finally connect.
"Price speaking…"
"Price listen I-" Gaz begins. His heart slams in his chest as he sees the speck of a figure kick in the back door of the cabin.
"Thought you were too busy for a boy's night Kyle?" His Captain snorts over the phone. "Told off Soap yesterday when he invited you and the m-"
"PRICE!" Gaz snaps desperately. A firm tone far more reminiscent of work.
The line goes dead silent in response.
"Listen I went out for a hike today. I'm at the top of the ridge next to the cabin. I'm maybe an hour away if the snow and dark don't slow me down." He begins to rattle off, his head spinning "I can see the place from where I am though. There's a grey SUV I don't recognize and some folks in black got out and I've been watching them snoop around. Now one of these bastards just broke a window and another fucker kicked in my back door!"
"Shit! Is-" Price starts to speak but Gaz sees the phone battery hit 5% and the phone automatically dims so that it's barely visible.
Gaz tries to exhale through his nose to control his panic as he cuts off his Captain "Can you guys get here ASAP… or call the cops… or something? Please. I… fuck… Listen I already fuckin fell down part of the mountain today and now someone is breaking into my place. My phone's about to bloody die too. I need you guys."
"Shit!"
"What?"
"We need to go!"
"Boss what's going-"
"Now Simon!"
A flurry of movement can now be heard over the phone. Ghost and Soap's voices yelling something in the background. But the Captain responds immediately "We're on our way Kyle. Should take us 40 minutes tops. I'll call the authorities. Be there in a jiffy. Don't do anything stupid!"
Gaz hears Soap's voice say something else but can't make out what he's saying. Red was all he could see.
"Gaz, out".
He hits the hang-up button, quickly puts the phone back in sleep mode, and slips it back into his pocket.
He takes a moment and lets out a long deep breath as he can see the back door of the cabin swing back and forth on its hinges.
Gaz crawls slowly forward from under a bush as his uncle's cabin finally comes into view. It is now according to his watch exactly 37 minutes later and the sun is now halfway set. The clouds soaking up the fire red of the sunset. Currently, his body is soaked. Between the sweat and crawling through the snow, he can't even tell if he is hot or cold anymore.
He pauses as he comes up beside the woodshed ten meters away and quietly stares at the open back door.
The bastard who kicked it in broke the lock, bits of metal are scattered on the ground. It swings gently in the wind, creaking softly now and then.
Inhaling the cold air through his nose, Gaz silently waits and stares unblinking. Breathing in through his nose and out through his mouth. Brown eyes focus on the inside of the cabin. The lights are out, and the hallway leading inside is pitch black… Did he leave a light on? Honestly, he can't quite remember at this point.
But he holds his breath as a small noise… maybe something falling can be heard from inside. And a few moments later, there is a hint of a hushed voice.
So the bastards are still here. Great. Can't they just steal his shit and leave?
Exhaling and steaming the air with his breath, Gaz quickly yanks off his backpack and shoves it against the stacked wood. He gets out his hunting knife and also grabs himself a thick stick for his offhand. It's the size of his wrist and is easily able to do some damage as well.
He can deal with a few (hopefully) garden variety thieves.
Getting to his feet again, Gaz slowly makes his way up to the back door. Listening intently, he puts his back against the wall and cautiously peeks inside. He can't see much with the lights off aside from the outlines of furniture.
More noise could be heard now. He listens for voices and nods to himself as he quickly pinpoints where they are. One in the kitchen, a male. Then a few moments later hushed and muffled tones came from the bedroom… a male and a female it sounds like.
Kitchen. Take out the single first…
His shoes are nearly silent as he sneaks through the hallway, making sure to avoid the bedroom. Out of the corner of his eye, he can see the front door is also kicked in as it swings back and forth in the breeze.
Luck had not been on his side once again.
A large man, a little bigger than him nearly walks straight into Gaz where he'd been crouched in the dark. The pistol in the band of the man's jeans is an immediate cause for alarm.
They're armed.
"Oh shit-"
Gaz didn't even give him the chance to get any other words out. Between getting the drop on him, and getting a good shot in with the thick branch on the back of his skull… the man clatters unconscious to the ground. He grabs the gun as fast as he can, popping the round out of the chamber and unloading the magazine.
He doesn't need a gun to deal with these fucks.
Gaz knows the jig was up, as quiet as he was being… bodies hitting the ground are loud.
"Hey, what's going on? You find something?!"
Gaz's blood was rushing through his ears. Scrambling as quietly as possible he manages to rush down the hallway toward the bedroom. He hears the woman say something but he can't quite catch it.
It felt like a million things all happening within the span of a few seconds.
He can just barely hear a car motor in the driveway. A second man, this one almost as big as Ghost, exits the bedroom with his gun drawn. Kicking out a foot Gaz trips him and manages to knock him out by slamming his face into the ground. Once again he unloads the gun with muscle memory before rushing into the dark bedroom where there was a smaller figure standing.
The woman shrieks as he tackles her to the ground. Slamming into her he forces his knife up against her neck as she thrashes.
Voices now were at the front door to the cabin.
"GAZ?!"
Relief floods through him as he recognizes Price.
"HERE!" He screams back, his head pounding with his heartbeat.
Her fist connects with his neck and he smacks her back in an attempt to subdue her. Pushing his knife closer against her neck.
Blinding flashlights flooded the room within seconds and he could hear them all shouting. The woman he was on top of sobbed out in distress and Gaz's stress level finally hit the ceiling.
"Shut the FUCK up and hold still!" He screams down at her, his head pounding behind his eyes.
Her eyes go wide and he can see the fear in them… she was crying and blubbering out something. Completely incomprehensible.
To Gaz's utter shock, Soap runs over but instead of helping him subdue the woman… the Scot's foot connects with his elbow. The force causes pain to ripple through his arm forcing him to drop the hunting knife that he had hovering over her neck.
"NO!"
"AH! Soap! What the fu-" He chokes out.
He was cut off by a pair of hands grabbing him, digging into his jacket and ripping him off the woman. She was now shrieking and scrambling backwards, holding her now bleeding nose. Gaz meanwhile tries to turn but is caught by surprise as Price grabs his wrists and brutally wrenches them behind his back.
"Wait guys-"
Gaz looks around wildly, spluttering as both Soap and Price slam him down face-first onto the ground. Caught off guard he finds himself pinned to the rough wood floor, head spinning.
"What the FUCK Kyle?!?" Price's voice booms in the room. "Get OFF her!"
It's the genuine shock in his superior's voice that causes Gaz to stop fighting. Swallowing a gulp of air and coughing he listens as a sobbing wail could be heard from the hallway.
The woman, hands now grabbing at Ghost's shirt, speaks in choked wet gasps.
"I-I don't know why?!!? Why… why did he? I was talking to him on the phone all morning… What did I do..?"
Desperately twisting his pounding head to the left Gaz looks over to see Ghost helping and holding up the last perp… the woman. He had moved her away from the group now… She was clinging to him and sobbing, barely able to stand on her two feet without his help.
"No- she… she broke in.. guys… They all broke in!" Gaz splutters in confusion as the large man holds her up by her elbow, his other hand on her back. Even with a beanie and black facemask… a rare look of true horror was unhidden on the lieutenant's face.
Ghost started speaking as his deep brown eyes bore holes into Gaz's "Seriously mate… something's wrong with ya… Those two were robbers yes…. but this… Gaz…?… you hurt her?!…"
After a beat Price bluntly finishes the thought, his voice thick with concern.

Ghost x Reader
Grumbling, tired, sweaty, and annoyed at how bad the traffic had been you outright ignored when your phone started ringing. Fuck that you were done work. Chelsea could call your boss if she was having problems closing.
You leaned your head back in the car seat, sighing and rubbing your face. Today had been hard... You had been stressed beyond belief and work had been insane since it was the last day before the holidays.
Somehow you managed to peel yourself out of the driver's seat and get out of the car. Making it halfway to your front door before you remembered the gift bag in the passenger seat.
"Fucking...."
Swearing colorfully you doubled back and grabbed it. You had gotten a collection of little gift cards, jams, chocolates and goodies.
Once you got inside, roughly shutting the door behind you, was when you nearly tripped on the massive boots on the doormat.
'Simon had gotten home early today then.'
While pissed you had nearly dropped the bag, you couldn't help but be thankful. His boss, Price, who you had met a few times was always very understanding that the holidays were not the best time for your boyfriend.
When there were no deployments during the season he tended to let him come home early or skip out on things if he was really not feeling it. That being said Simon rarely took him up on it.
He was like a workhorse sometimes.
You kicked off your shoes, pushing the dirty boots aside while mumbling under your breath. Would it kill him to put them on the shoe rack?
As you came into the living room to your surprise he was... waiting on the couch. Dressed in sweats and a old t-shirt. Glasses on and reading a book, your cat curled up in his lap.
He had even turned the lights of the Christmas tree on. Which stopped you in your tracks. He turned on the lights for you. The whole thing looked so utterly domestic and serene.
"Figured I'd come home earlier for your last day?"
You blinked but plastered a exhausted smile on your face. "Thank you Simon... I... It's been a long day. Sorry... I didn't mean to slam the door... Oh my god I'm so happy i get my two weeks now!"
You had been waiting for this break forever. The fall had been so stressful, and he had been gone for eight weeks, just getting back not even two weeks ago.
He cracked a soft smile and gave the feline in his lap a head scratch. "Think you need the break. You've been exhausted luv... Get any goodies?"
Tiredly you came over and began unloading your haul. "Some coffee gift cards. Chocolate of course! Stacey made some blackberry jam!-"
He sat up a little, careful not to disturb the critter in his lap and listened as you told him about the presents. He picked up the glass jar of jam and nodded approvingly.
You kept rambling though. Grumbling about work stress and how happy you were to have a break. Though you felt your bra digging into the sensitive spot under your left armpit and swore as you tried to fix it.
"Ugh! Fucking thing is digging in."
"Why don't you take it off?"
Giving him a playful glare you opened your mouth but the blonde cut you off.
"I'm not trying to get you naked. Not right now anyway. Why don't you get comfy... maybe go have a bath. I'll order dinner. You've had a long week."
Narrowing your eyes and trying to hide your laugh you put the things in your hands down on the table. Immediately you stood up and began to pull your arms into your shirt.
"You know what... I kind of can't wait to take it off. I hate the damn things so fucking much."
You began to do your little trick of taking it off under your shirt and kept ranting.
"I am so happy for a break from these things... I gotta wear them at work. I fucking hate bras. Now I don't have to wear one for two weeks and I'm so fucking ready for that!"
Putting your arms back through your sleeves you adjusted the shirt a little and reached in the neck to pull out the black sweat soaked bra.
Simon leaned back and grinned... That grin... You knew the one and you braced yourself.
"Are you saying..." He asked in as much a deadpan voice as he could muster but his grin was ruining it

Content warnings: femreader, generic sex talk, mentions of sex toys, teeny bit of crying (gee thanks Gaz), implied public sex (it's Soap what do you expect), a touch of mental health talk, Ghost's past (Sexual assault/rape mention).
Oversharing time with Grimm! So I got ADHD and one of the ways it affects me is I'm hypersexual. Being horny as fuck at inconvenient times is not fun. So I was thinking how would the 141 be with a partner who had hypersexuality/high sex drive. (Please remember everyone's experiences with hypersexuality are varied and manifest differently for different people. I'm not a doctor. I'm just typing smutty things out for fun.)
Price... He's surprised but not unpleasantly so. You have a higher sex drive than him, but he doesn't catch on right away when you hide it so well. You two will have wonderful lovemaking sessions but once he's 'finished' you seem to think sex is as well. Unfortunately the old man is a very one and done kind of guy, not that it makes you unhappy or anything. That's just how bodies work.
So every time you two finish you'd make excuses to go have a shower and try your hardest to silently get off just one more time with your hand. It's almost like John finishing makes you even hornier. It only takes a couple weeks of you being together before he catches on. The Captain doesn't say anything at first, preferring to observe a few more times to make sure he's right, the last thing he wants to do is embarrass you for no reason. He starts picking up all the times you slip away to the bedroom, coming back with a embarrassed look on your face.
He approaches it gently though, not wanting to shame you. You get ready to go to the shower after sex and he offers to join you this time. You splutter and try to make excuses and he just softly tells you "It's okay if you need a little more luv. I can't leave you all pent up like this... You always make sure I get off.... I want to make sure you are satisfied too... Don't mind using my fingers or my mouth... Maybe I'll get you a few toys to keep in the bathroom. Can't have you like this when I get deployed."
Gaz... catches on far quicker than Price would. He notices you squeezing your thighs together in the car all the time and that sometimes you'll just disappear for twenty minutes to go to the 'bathroom' quite regularly. He gently brings it up during a makeout session a few weeks after you start dating, simply asking you with a soft cheeky grin "You get horny a lot don't you? It's ok. No judging.. I just noticed."
After your initial huffing and crossing your arms, pretending to be cross with him for guessing right... You eventually relax and admit it. You actually find yourself explaining a bit about it, that you can't help it and try your best to not let it interfere with your life though it's definitely ruined some relationships before. Guys who felt like they had to keep up and have sex even if they didn't feel like it.
He assured you that he'll always talk to you and promises he'll enforce his own boundaries if needed. Even offering to go to counseling if you are ever worried about it affecting the relationship. Which was about the sexiest thing he could ever say... Leading to you two fucking for the first time right there on the couch. And Gaz doesn't disappoint. Knowing how bad you need it he gets you off multiple times in a row until you are a wobbly, sobbing, mess before he even considers sticking his cock in you.
Soap... has a fairly high sex drive himself which you find to be a relief. He's got stamina to spare as well, so getting a couple rounds in usually does the trick for you and you're usually quite happy. You don't feel embarrassed about your needs at all. Until he's injured and stuck in the military hospital for the next month recovering from nearly getting himself blown up (of course). It's one thing when he's deployed and just not around, you can handle that. But when he's there and off limits? That's the hardest thing in the world. Like smelling fresh cinnamon buns and not being allowed a taste.
The first week isn't bad. You keep yourself busy and bring him some homemade cookies and clean the house top to bottom. But when he second week comes around you start getting squirmy. You use your toys at home and make sure to get yourself a half dozen times before coming to visit him. But the second you lay eyes on him the heat starts up all over again and so does the guilt.
By the third week Soap is stable and doing well but soon enough catches on that something is bothering you terribly. He worries it might be because he got hurt on the job. But after pulling you into his lap in the little hospital room and asking you in that sweet soft voice of his until you spill your guts. Tell him you feel so guilty cause you want his touch so badly... But he's in the hospital. He scoffs a bit and kisses you before he pulls out his phone for a moment and sends off a message before holding you close and whispering assurances to you that you are perfectly normal and sexual urges are healthy. A minute of cuddles later you hear the door shut and then he smirks "Can't be letting my sweet girl go without. Now my fingers work perfectly fine and Lt said he'd watch the hallway."
Ghost... Catches on instantly, before you start dating and very early into spending time with you. The way your face burns with heat while looking at him or really when you look at anyone good looking. He catches you when you're spacing out and obviously fantasizing, enjoying the warm smile on your face. When you two start getting closer and begin dating he's admittedly a bit nervous to talk about it. He doesn't have a high sex drive at all, though he does enjoy sex occasionally... When he brings it up you do your best to listen to every word. He doesn't talk much day to day but during this conversation you let him take charge.
When he explains some of his past you freeze, now worried about the fact that your new partner has been assaulted before. The last thing you want to do is make him feel pressured or push him. But he assures you he knows his limits and how to stand up for himself. He won't be doing anything he doesn't want. Before completely changing the subject and asking what kind of toys you like to use.
The question mortifies you but he pushes gently until he gets some answers. Assuring you with a smirk, that taking care of yourself is more than allowed... that it's important, especially if you use it as a way to regulate. He might not like being touched all the time but he certainly loves watching... And listening. Which leads to your new boyfriend buying you a nice selection of funny shaped dildos and vibrators to use while curled up next to him in bed.
