The third door Luz found waiting for her, again, bore some resemblance to the first she’d gone through: grand, golden, imposing. It matched Lilith’s in design. But this one bore chips in its wood, of varying size and length, like all manners of blades had been used to hack at it. Still, its shining trim blazed through its scars, gold with gentle accents of red.
Again, she had a guess as to who might wait on the other side. She braced herself, and pushed through the door, to find another familiar location waiting on the other side, though again she hadn’t seen it in what felt like forever.
The outskirts of Latissa, with its purple hues and golden globs mounded here and there, is a location that prompts a memory of one person in particular. And now, after Lilith and Kay, Luz has an idea of what she might expect upon spying him.
And then there he is, almost as though he was waiting for her. His cream-beige cape gently moved with the wind, his hood covering his blond hair. And that familiar mask hiding his face, however long-abandoned it might be for the Hunter she now knew.
“I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised to run into you, huh?” she calls out as she approaches him.
“You’ve got something I need, and I’d appreciate it if you just hand it over. Buuuut, I got a feeling you’re gonna make this difficult for me, like usual.”
