The picture of Mob as ???-kun wrecking the city made its rounds, even if Mob's identity didn't. People not in the know name it "The Calamity". It bleeds into online spaces too, theory and message boards, spooky story blogs and the like. The Calamity, they call the thing in those pictures. The Calamity.
In the same vein, there is also video footage of Reigen Arataka sprinting into the heart of the subsequent hurricane Mob created, inner storm made outer. That footage is grainy, having been shot from a helicopter trying to get close enough to see what was going on—before being brought down by the winds as well. It's a blur of rumpled gray and blond hair. You can hardly tell it's Reigen.
But ever since his stint on TV, there are people that remember him. That recognize him. That spend far too much of their time prying into his personal business. So some snot-nosed little brat had hunted down the camera footage, CCTVs that hadn't been close enough to be destroyed, but were close enough to catch solid glimpses, and then, as if that weren't enough, they somehow hacked into the ESSD's own cameras, from their military chopper, and found very real, very clear, HD footage of Reigen, standing amidst the wreckage, looking like hell...
...and very obviously shielding someone from view.
Glaring up at the cameras, scowling, arms tucked around a black gakuran as he hunched over and twisted to protect the identity of the person next to him.
The internet came to the only logical conclusion.
Which leads Reigen to this.
