30 Day Kaiju Challenge Day 1

BURROWER

Name: Grigous

Age of origin: Awakened Ancient.

Length/Height: 60 meters

Description: Grigous shares a body shape very similar to marsupial moles, covered in thick, shaggy white fur. Her eyeless face continues the resemblance, but is covered in a stone-like substance, and an organ can be seen pushing it’s way outwards, resembling the nose of a star nosed mole. The stone-like substance is also scattered across various places on her body. Her front limbs are thin and wide, with razor sharp claws on the ends that tear through rock with ease. Behind the front limbs is a middle pair, usually tucked against her chest, and her back pair is little more than a pair of fins, mostly for steering.

Abilities:

Honed Claws-Grigous’ claws are ridiculously sharp, able to tear through solid rock with ease. Not even a kaiju’s tough hide can stop them for long.

Burrowing

“Stone” armor-The stone-like growths are extremely thick and durable.

Extra Arms-The arms tucked against her chest are easily missed, even when one is examining her. They can be quite the surprise.

Weakness: Grigous is about as timid as they come. She runs from kaiju on sight, and even the military has been known to scare her off. She’s also not the fastest kaiju above ground, and if the rock is thick enough it can take time for her to dig through.

Backstory: Grigous is one of the ancient kaiju that was awoken from her thousand year slumber. What cause this is unknown, but the consequences have been felt worldwide. Luckily, Grigous is mostly harmless, as far as kaiju go. She usually pops out of the earth long enough to look around, seemingly in search of something, before retreating back to her subterranean home. Unfortunately, her tunneling has caused it’s fair share of problems.

How they Interact with Other Kaiju: Grigous is terrified of other kaiju, running away on sight. The reason for this is unknown, but it is believed to have something to do with the stone-like substance covering her body, which is actually scabs formed over thousands of years.

Here we have a revamp of that mole kaiju I created for the old 30 day challenge, who I found was…pretty boring. During the revamp @theload helped me out a ton, as she usually does, and now I absolutely love her. My scared mole daughter. Fun fact, it was during her redesign I decided to make extra limbs a standard Kaijiation mutation!

30 Day Daikaiju Challenge Day 8! Subterranean Kaiju!

Name: Grigous Appearance: Grigous is a monstrous mole, covered in thick brown fur and stone that has fused to her arms, legs, chest, and face. The stone has formed a mask over her face, leaving only her eyes visible, which are large and bright, actually emitting their own light for the dark tunnels she usually traverses. The claws on her forelimbs are absurdly large, strong enough to smash through stone easily, and underneath the fur her hind legs are muscular, mostly used to propel herself forward while her front limbs do the heavy lifting. Grigous can stand on either her hind legs, or all four Estimated Height: 60 Meters Date of Recognition: 2008 Origin: A subterranean species of kaiju Attack Modes: Giant Claws, Mining Eye Beams, Geo Manipulation Grigous is one of the more docile kaiju, though when provoked she is a fearsome creature. Grigous was first discovered not long after Pyraformes, having been asleep beneath the earth for who knows how long. With the impression Pyraformes made on humanity, no hostile actions were made when she first surface near Las Vegas, aside from the gamblers abandoning their slots. Well, some of them. She made her way to the city, but made no threatening gestures towards it, leaving just as quickly as she arrived. The next time she popped up was near New York, again examine the man made structures but not making any hostile actions towards any of them. This continued for about a month, appearing to examine some oddity before leaving again, only stopping when she made contact with another kaiju, one of the Fire Spitters. This Fire Spitter was extremely hostile and a massive battle ensued, tearing San Francisco apart in the process. Neither one could overpower the other, only stopping when the Fire Spitter managed to leave a grievous wound in Grigous' throat. The Fire Spitter did not leave the battle unscathed, but was definitely the victor, leaving his presumably dead for behind while he left to recover his wounds. Only once he left did the kaiju slowly pull herself back to the burrow she had arrived from, disappearing beneath the ground once more...
