Still processing the horrible news from Edmonton that my very dear friend Ben Alway has left this world. He was many things to many people, and a truly charismatic person who made an impression on you whether you liked it or not. He was complicated and sometimes drove me nuts, but he was also a devoted father whom I spent many years going to museums, parks, and K Days with while our kids were young. We worked together, hung out together, and busted each other’s balls mercilessly. He could really annoy me but also really make me laugh and even be incredibly kind- and his legendary dance moves will never be forgotten.
