Grevling: SQ Author Interview
Here is our interview with Grevling on their story ânot today (a long and lustrous winter)â
What inspired your story?
To be honest, it came up while re-reading one of my favorite fics in the Mirandy fandom - 72 Days and Counting by thelastgoodname Partway through the fic, I had the thought, "If I could write a time-loop fic half as good as this for Swan Queen, imagine its heartbreak potential." So... that's what I tried to do.

miranda is not an emotional person but every year on the day of that missed appointment she takes andy to an extravagant dinner and it takes andy a good like three years to realise what anniversary theyâre celebrating bc miranda sure as shit isnât saying anything
ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?? Iâm crying, this is too perfect â¤

honestly idk why mirandy is like... comfort food for me but i probably imprinted on it as a bb fandom duckling back on lj and now i can't escape
thatâs so cute though!! and like, what a good fandom to have as comfort food, everything is just so good and meaty gah itâs SO GOOD. I wish I would have found it sooner
Q, R, and U!
Q: Do you like getting prompts from your readers?
I do! Iâm woefully terrible at actually responding to them/filling them, but every now and then Iâll get one that sets me off and gets me really excited!! So as long as there are no expectations, weâre good. ;)Â
R: Which writers (fanfic or otherwise) do you consider the biggest influence on you and your writing?
omfg this is embarrassing but definitely one of my most formative influences within fic was @queenofattolia, who wrote gorgeous Buffy fic before we wandered off to other fandoms. And perhaps appropriately, I would say that Megan Whalen Turnerâs The Queenâs Thief series has done a lot to teach me about how to write easily and expressively. I would also probably say that Animorphs had a huge impact from childhood on how I write characterization and how I write devastating emotional twists LMAO. Why are all my influences YA? WHO KNOWS. Tbh I strive to write like good YA writes, easy and unpretentious but with attention to character and plot and relationships first and foremost!!!
U: Is there a pairing you would like to write, but havenât tried yet.
Hmm. I thought about writing Jetra a lot when I was watching JtV! But I havenât watched TV in years so I guess that temptation is pretty much gone? I would like to write Princess Emma/Bandit Regina, does that count đ
