Hello! Mod G here. Welcome to the blog! This AU takes place during the godmaster ending, well for the most part. Instead of defeating the Radiance, the Radiance is split into Little Ghost and The Hollow Knight. Both now share a part of the Radiance and the infection stops. While splitting up the Radiance weakens it, the two characters (Ghost and Hollow) can have a burst of intense pain in their eye and sometimes, if it is bad enough, their whole body. The pain can be so intense they black out or attack something infront of them to stop it. This usually happens to Ghost more due to them being smaller and new to it. Hollow is more or less used to the searing pain.
Any living infected will faint and wake up normal, with very little memory of the infection. Those who were not infected remember it all. Hollow and Ghost can talk but it takes alot of energy so when talking with others they use sign language or write it down. Any void being can communicate with them mentally since they are one and the same.

As soon as Jeongmin came into the magical rituals class he noticed a new face. Smiling he took the seat next to the new kid. "Hey, I'm Jeongmin."

“I’m Jinki!” he replies warmly. His hands are working to sign out his name again when he catches himself and halts the movement. His time at the school was very brief but he had learned that if people didn’t think he was mad for using sign language, he assumed that he might be weaving some magic toward them. Bringing his hands back down quickly Jinki chuckles a bit.
“Sorry, I was just ... signing..” he explains.
