Long Antennae, Short Introduction

There was something faintly ridiculous about the whole encounter.

An insect with antennae longer than its body sitting on a piece of black metal, staring back as though I was the unusual one.

It didn't move.

Neither did I.

For a few moments we simply regarded each other, neither quite sure who was interrupting whom. Its impossibly long antennae reached out into the space between us, quietly testing the world while I reached for my phone instead.

The longer I looked, the stranger it became. Not because it was unusual, but because I'd probably walked past hundreds like it without ever really noticing.

Sometimes curiosity begins with nothing more than standing still long enough to return the stare.

The Giant Green Lime Stick-insect!

A few months, our lab received some eggs of a stick insect and we wait soooo long until the emergence of one of these. We found out that's a Giant Green Lime Stick-insect (Diapherodes giganteus) and we're feeding they with guava's leaves.
