This should have gone with my last post! My grandfather Algernon Scott below him Andrew (military medal recipient, Wally who played 100 games for St. Kilda and is written up in the AFL book as a “twinkle toed winger” and George! These four brothers were part of the first landing at Gallipoli! My dear grandfather loved music in particular opera and theatre! His wife didn’t share his love so he would take himself into the city and enjoy concerts etc! I wish I’d known him!💔❤️ the newspaper article was on the front page of the then Herald, the evening paper July 1916!#abcmyphoto #theherald #grandfather #greatuncles #gallipoli #ww1 #anzacday2020 #covid_19 #lestweforget🌺 #wewillrememberthem #atthegoingdownofthesunandinthemorningwewillrememberthem ❤️😔 I can’t forget the animals of war and I think of my maternal great uncle Jack who signed up as a 16 year old and joined the light horse brigade! He never got over the fact that they had to shoot their own horses which was a better option than leaving them behind! What a choice! These magnificent animals had carried them through campaigns and were trusted friends! It affected Uncle Jack for the rest of his life! He fought in the Middle East not sure where! #lighthorse #equinelove #australianwaler #toughhorse 🐎❤️ https://www.instagram.com/p/B_ZHayiHszw/?igshid=1q0qrjh8g9am4
