🦾for Doc because in any minecraft based world I have his prosthetics only change a little to fit the story: you have come to the right place I am. Admittedly I haven't yet done much thinking about Doc because he's in Rift AU but he is definitely behind the scenes [though! He will most certainly be in the main rift AU and probably get a few oneshots of his own]. But I've been thinking about his prosthetic arm and eye and boy howdy. So they're robotic and powered via redstone, though he's able to remove both of them quite easily. Neither are necessarily attached permanently to his body. He does have sensors and other things attached more permanently that he has to struggle with if they break [and, once upon a time perhaps, Ren used to help him with them hehehe]. The robotic arm functions basically as though it was a regular arm, but I think he's able to lock it and use it more precisely as well, for things like laying redstone or carving pieces and bits and bots out of metal, wood, and stone. The eye can function as a normal eye, night vision, and a sort of version of the f3 screen. For night vision, he made a filter that is basically coated in the juice of golden carrots and baked on - it has to be topped up every now and again. The 'f3 screen' gives him a lot of data about the world around him which he can use for redstone and other things though obviously having that much information on the screen is both overwhelming and hard to see around. Doc doesn't sleep with either prosthetic on - the eye functions sort of like glasses, and sleeping on it could damage the lenses. His shoulder just needs a break from the weight of the robotic arm. It's significantly heavier than his still attached arm, but the motors and such inside of it partially make up for it. Still, that shoulder often strains and he sometimes will take a few days without it on. Similarly, since the robotic eye sees perfectly it can cause eyestrain in his other eye so he takes little breaks from it too [like you're supposed to do with glasses but uh. no one does]. I think doc's missing arm is a little bit shorter than halfway to the elbow, which gives the robotic prosthetic plenty to hold onto. The plugs and sensors and parts that hold it on rest higher up, closer to the shoulder, and there's a strap that sits over his shoulder to help hold it on as well. That strap probably rubs him raw occasionally which is another reason he has to take a break with it. I think Doc also has a much simpler arm prosthetic made of wood that cant articulate but instead it has different attachments on the end of it like a hook or a holder [like old school arm prosthetics] for days when he can't handle the robot arm but still needs something.
