Luna (aka Lulu, Lu Luz, Moonie, Moonlight, Babaloo, Babaluli, Luli, Lunita)
Mid-October 2021 - Now
Birthday (assumed): August 2021
Mama: Gravy
Luna is Artemis' twin, but has a white spot on her belly. She has had quite the adventure in her lifetime, with two major broken bones. She has had her leg reconstructed with a metal rod. She carries her eyes with an intensity, and she has a very deliberate, demanding kind of meow.
Trigger warning for animal cruelty (she is ok though, if that helps).
Luna had fallen and broken her pelvis, which she healed from beautifully. After which, she returned home, injured. Upon reviewing the X-ray, it showed a metallic BB pellet in her hip, and a completely broken/shattered leg bone. Despite the high cost, I could not accept her being put down for something that was totally unfair happening to her. I assume it was a neighbor, since it also happened to a few of my goats, but the issue has not occurred since Luna.
The amputation would have been suitable as well, but it cost almost as much as the repair, so I decided to push forward with that, and she dealt with a very long recovery process. I was there each step of the way to put hot compresses on her leg, have rehab time with just she and I, give her medicine for so many weeks. She is now fully ambulatory, running, jumping, and climbing, without pain.
It is possible that the leg may require upkeep (another surgery) in the future, but for now, she is doing just fine. It was so expensive, but seeing her walk again, in spite of being hurt by mean people, brings me such happiness. Animals deserve to live comfortably. I feel lucky she has survived these challenges. She loves to sit on my lap and curl up for so many pets and sweet words.

Bill (aka Billy, Billby, Brotherman Bill, Guillermo, Billito, BillyB, Billy Banill)
Mid-October 2021 - Now
Birthday (assumed): August 2021
Mama: Gravy
Billy is a very independent and tough sweetie. He loves his human mama, and loves to be treated like a baby doll. However, he does not like to see other cats, and wants all the attention and space possible.
He is currently having beef with Sassy, but he is scared of her, and will roll over to her when she starts stepping to him. He has very muscular arms though, so I am not sure what he's afraid of. Maybe there is a respect aspect at play.
Bill went missing for a few months back in 2023, and made his return looking stronger than ever. I'm still not sure where he went, but he has been home every day since then. He is one of the outdoor cats that likes to come inside. He will also sleep on the cat tower cactus hammock thing, at the very top. Brave Bill.
Oh, he is nicknamed Brotherman Bill, since he is a Brother and a Bill, but he HATES the song of the same title. If it comes on, even the intro instrumental guitar part, he will leave the area. I sing him a new song that I invented called "Billy the Kidden" that he likes way more. He turns into a baby for that one.
The second picture is him and Luna as babies. Bill was the first one out of his litter that I discovered. They were living in a seat taken out of a car, covered with a tarp. After Bill, I found Luna, Artemis, Dill, and CJ. I caught them all that night, and threw them all in the window. I shut it, and got them all used to the inside of the house for a while.
Artemis is a fairly shy, yet very endearing girl. She is almost identical to her sister Luna, except Luna has a white spot on her stomach. Artemis has very large and round eyes that she carries in a curious manner. She is polite, apprehensive, and nimble.
She was missing recently for 4 days, but since made an appearance looking very healthy. I think she is happy to avoid contact, even if I love to pet her. She seems to enjoy it, but she likes to take long breaks to recharge, and likes to independently eat. She currently has a standing beef with Tigre (Lilly's son), who likes to chase her. I try to keep him inside so that she is not terrorized by his behavior.
The first picture is with her brother CJ when they were little kittens. She was VERY skittish as a baby, and it impacted our relationship a lot when I had to catch her for her spay appointment. I am happy she has since forgiven me, and that I am able to pet her. She loves cheek scratches, and rolling on her back. She also likes to reach out when the petting stops to ask for more.
