One issue I have with combat sim games in general is that there’s almost always a dearth of good content on the tactics and strategy involved in using your machine. The game probably ships with a manual telling you exactly how to use every feature of your vehicle, and maybe touches on the broad strokes of tactics, but that’s it usually. Likewise, you can seek out community guides and tutorials, and they’re usually the same, all about the mechanics of using the vehicle, very little tactics or strategy. For flight sims, this isn’t quite as big of a deal because there actually are a good number of tutorials for BFM and two-ship tactics (especially for pre-missile aircraft), but for tanksims... yeah, no. Tanksims have smaller communities in general, and if you ask for tactics/strategy help, you get linked to a four hundred page manual in German about how tanks fought in the Blitzkrieg

After watching the finale last night, I couldn’t get myself to think straight; so I decided to wait until the next day to post all my thoughts about Gravity Falls.

I started watching this show when it premiered on Disney Channel in 2012. I wasn’t a big fan, but I didn’t hate it. When I moved to Hong Kong and grew up, I stopped watching so much TV and didn’t follow up on the series.

Years after, in 2015, I see some posts about the show on tumblr. I realized it had continued and was now a pretty cool thing. I decided to give it another shot, and it got me into watching cartoons again, which is now my favorite thing to do; whatever the cartoon.

It was such an amazing show, and frankly it became such a big part of my life. When I moved to college, the new environment and the need to go out and talk to people( urgh, people); it helped me realize that things go on even if your life changes. It helped me stay sane during that time. 

I feel I know these characters like my family now, and for a good reason: I’ve watched every episode many times, and I will never get tired of watching them. Every character brings something to my life and they helped me.

Dipper helped me realize that being smart isn’t all there is to me.

Mabel pushed me to become friendlier and let out my inner child.

Soos influenced me to write fanfiction, and also to accept my body type.

Stanley showed me that a family is more important than anything as I moved away from mine.

Stanford showed me that age is just a number, and that you can do what you want at the age you want.

Wendy showed me that you can be cool and nice to nerds; also her friendship with Dipper helped me move on from many crushes.

I could go through the whole list, but that would be too long. They are all dear to my heart and I will never see the world the same thanks to them. Whether it’s cursing “donkey spittle” when I’m mad, drawing an eye, a bow tie and a top hat on every triangle and nacho I see; quoting Gravity Falls at any time of the day because “It’s a dumb idea for poop heads”; or even humming the theme song when I’m bored.

FYI - I totally forgot to post this last week.

There's no running away from it now. I will run a second marathon in 6 days time. 26.2 miles for the second time in my life! What have I become?! As I said yesterday, I think my decision to run 10 marathons in 10 years is an odd one but we will see where it takes me. I get to work with the best sportswear and running brand in the world next week and interact with over 40 people that not only run marathons, but have similar interests to myself. As I prepare for my five stone project and blog it will be a great experience for me.

Yes I won't get a PB but there's so much more on offer for me, there's opportunities, connections to be made and once in a lifetime experiences to be had, who would turn all of that down?! I'm young and exploring the world through a lifestyle tht has changed my life, not many people my age can say that they've done that.

Yes I am blowing my own trumpet.

But before a Marathon you have to get in Marathon mode, and that means blowing your own trumpet. I thank the people that have got me here, Daniel Maskitt for his ongoing support to me since April, my beautiful girlfriend for staying by my side when I was a man ready to quit, my ever loving mother for showing me that I can continue to make people proud as long as I try my best and to Charlie Dark who reminded me that running is like life, it's hard. He also reminded me that I have time on my side and that I can do it! My run dem crew family is strong and I thank everyone for their well wishes that I received on Tuesday, you are all in my heart whilst I pound the German Capitals streets with RDC plastered on my back, ready for war.

I will enjoy myself next week and take in the experience for all it's worth, Nike is a great company, Berlin is an extraordinary City and the international groups need no compliments for we know what they can bring to ones life.
