🌞🏛️ ⭐️ for the ask game?
Thank youuu!
🌞 - Which deity(ies) are you closest to/do you worship the most often?
So I still think of myself as not really a deity focused person, but I can't deny that Dionysos is very important to me. As is She of the Many Names, who may be Ariadne, or at least someone who likes to wear her face. There's a point where I'm not sure if I'm accessing several goddess-type spirits who all like to use a continnum of symbolism, or if it's all one and the same. I tried to write about it here. And I mention Mary in that post so I will mention her here as well.
There's an unnameable deity as well. A witch father I suppose - horned and masked initiator. I talk to him at the crossroads. He sends me omens. I think it might have been him who told me something frightfully important in Glastonbury. Sometimes I think he and D are one and the same, sometimes I'm sure they are not.
And the river - a very local goddess. I used to think of her more in terms of river spirit until I met her in a dream. We're growing closer.
🏛️ - Do you have a favorite statue or temple to your deity(ies)? If yes, what is it?
I was gonna write about the fragrant spot by the river that is a natural temple to Dionysos but then I remembered about this huge mask that I couldn't tear my eyes from in the British Museum. I want to go back and just stare at it. Now.
⭐ - What is something you wish people outside your practice knew more about?
Honestly I'm not sure. I share bits of my practice on here because I love connecting with people over it, plus writing helps me figure things out, but at the same time I feel like my practice is such a personal thing. If people get it they get it, and if they don't, then it's not for them? (though I'm happy to answer questions and clarify things if someone is interested)
If I'm allowed to twist the interpretation of the question a bit, I wish we knew more of the stories of the people who came before us. Their understandings of the landscape, their ritual techniques, their names for things. It's not about searching for some mythical golden age, but more along the lines of... hm. When we perform an action over and over we create a track in the ritual landscape, and if we walk that track the land remembers. Where I live, there have been people since the ice retreated, more than 10 000 years ago. That's a long time to lay down a track. I'm sure many practices have come and gone since then, but if something has been used for a significant amount of time, I want to know about it. I want to speak to the land in a language she recognises. Sure I can find my own paths, but I think she'd like it if someone called her by that half-forgotten, beloved nickname once more, you know?

so! i spent a lot of time on uchronia.net, which is a database of alternate history books & many of them have very dumb plots. here's one:
Côté, Denis. L'Empire couleur de sangTitle trans.: Blood-Colored EmpireDivergence: 1837 CESummary: Sekhmet, Egyptian goddess of destruction, returns in the mid 19th century to create an evil empire in Canada, and clashes with Cagliostro, Dumas, Verne, and others.
F, W, Z, for the fandom ask?
What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom
Mmmmmm I guess pokemon would be the longest? Ive known pokemon longer than my sister so yeah! Going back to 96~
5 favorite characters from 5 different fandoms
In no order in particular
Scorpia from She-Ra and the princesses of power
Crona from Soul Eater
Phear Lap from Cuphead
Seam from Deltarune
Springtrap from Five nights at Freddys
Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go
I honestly need to be more involved in fandoms I seem to be to worried to talk to people though.
As much as I love BatIM its so full of holes it may as well be swiss cheese. I also REALLY wanted an animation that all three toons interacted. But then again they did not even give Allison like... any character either, at least outside of nice and I dont know who I am or what's going on, but hey a sword. I guess they will make more stuff in the future but I worry about what that will be. But hey the world is a lot of the draw! Id love to see some wall crawling monsters in the future.
