What would your muse write as my muse’s epitaph (gravestone)?
It can be something loving, funny, or straight up evil!
(you wanna write the thing for Alfy? Do write the thing for Alfy) ☠
Sami walked away from her small house in the countryside, a tome in her hand.
It wasn’t long before she arrived at a tiny marker in the ground, an A carved into it, and little else indicating that there was someone buried there.
Sami placed the tome on the ground in front of the marker, kneeling in front of it and cleaning it off with a handkerchief. After she’d gotten the dirt off of it, she sat back on her heels and wiped her eyes on her sleeve.
"… Happy birthday, Alfwin."
She opened her mouth to speak again- the grave had several other gifts on it. It had been ten years since Alfwin had passed, and she had decided that there was no better gift for this tenth new birthday than a mire tome, the same sort she’d given him on that first day they spent together.
As much as she wanted to talk to him, to reassure him that she was happy and had found her place, that would be a lie.
She couldn’t ever love someone again, not after all that. Her heart still belonged to him, even though now he was probably nothing more than dust under her.
She curled into a ball on the grave, covering her face with her hands as tears dotted the grass under her.
