In theory, Gray understood that Natsu’s biology was different. When Gramps had explained Dragon Slaying magic to him all those years ago, Gray had listened. Something about dragon claws, and scales, and lungs— truthfully, it had gone one ear and out the other.
It just didn’t matter to Gray.
He was Gray’s rival, and his best friend. He was the idiot who would never hesitate to throw himself into danger, not if it meant his friends might come out the other side alive.
So, suffice to say, the implications of Natsu’s magic never really registered in Gray’s mind, because it never mattered enough to.
Gajeel’s presence ruined that.
