Amybeth: she's a bit boring, it's kraft mac and cheese. it's familiar and easy to cook.

Esperanza: pancakes with a totally healthy amount of cajeta de leche. she used to eat the sauce by itself when she was little and no one was looking....which she totally grew out of and does not still do....

Maverick: mango lime tajín sorbet, but honestly just give them those vero mango tajín lollipops and it'll perk them right up.

Oakleigh: peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies. she has had many breakdowns while baking them and they're the only thing that brings her comfort.

Amybeth: she has a few; jewlery, shoes, and juggling pins!

Esperanza: bones from roadkill she stumbles across and crystals.

Maverick: comic books. they love finding vintage super hero comics.

Oakleigh: dolls! she loves collecting old and well loved dolls and fixing them up. her entire collection has some sort of modification she did.

Amybeth: it always sounds like it takes her by surprise. it's rhythmic though, and warm.

Esperanza: surprisingly soft given her tough demeanor. it's very gentle and comes off as a giggle.

Maverick: very short and clipped, but you know it's genuine by the smile that takes up their entire face.

Oakleigh: uncontrollable snorts. there's nothing graceful or cutesy about it, it's all encompassing laughter.

Amybeth: a penny she found right outside of the band's first gig.

Esperanza: her great grandma's rosary.

what exactly is/are the System[s] and what can they do?

Hmm... It's a bit hard to explain, but they're not your usual mind systems. They're more like the bamboo rat system in Cheating Men Must Die (one of my favorite revenge fantasy manhua btw) but also not quite.

System 008 and 143 are bound by the Main System, which places restrictions on them. They can only assist using their own unique cheating tool and system mall items. While they are technically systems, they're more like your partner and assistant during missions.

When you're inside the Bureau, the system stays in your mind. But when you're in a mission world, they take on the form you've chosen for them so you can see them, but the characters inside the mission world can't.

4. What's an item that is deeply important and special to them? What makes it so special?

lane is a sentimental collector!!! they took so much stuff from their childhood house that belonged to rook and it all lives with them. the most important thing they took was rook's record collection. it shaped lane's love for music and is the strongest indicator to lane of the person that their father was!

lane's not a very excitable person! not in a very expressive way anyway! music and music theory and shows are exciting to them but that's quieter and deeper. the one single thing that has always truly gotten them to GEEK all the way out is anime. (recency bias) lane loves one piece so much

every time they zone out they kind of bop their head to whatever song they've been fixated on and sometimes they'll drum tap or hum and it's SHOCKINGLY meditative also sometimes it's the only way mason wants to hear music

💌 romance - surprisingly tactile. passionately hated pda before being with felix; now, he always wants to be touching somehow - arms brushing, fingers linked, feet tangled under the table. particularly fond of felix’s hands, almost always holding one in public and kisses his knuckles softly when they say goodbye. (reversal of felix’s introductory hand kiss, which elliot did NOT like lmao)

💕 love - bobby was his only previous serious relationship, and the only person he’s been in love with/slept with. so he has limited experience with love, and unknowns are very hard for him, which is why he has a pretty hard time at the start of the series. felix makes him shut down at first, and it takes him most of book 1 to allow the scary feelings out. he’s still pretty reserved and goes back in his shell when bad things happen, but by the end of book 3 is much better at expressing both his love and his fear to felix.

😡 anger - elliott is a grump so it’s hard to pick one thing lmao. noise is the first thing that came to mind - the loud carnival is his nightmare, but especially noise in places he thinks should be quiet like the office, the station, the lab, the library gets under his skin. has certainly told off multiple employees for chatting too loudly by the water cooler. bites his tongue but hates it when he’s trying to work during lunch and can hear everyone chatting and heating up their food.

You met Blake in 1990– won’t specifically say what month but it was in the first half of the year. (There may be a canon month down the line if something crops up, but it’s ambiguous as of now.)

Blake felt a connection with you at first glance— your eyes— but they tried to fight it at first— due to events— even though they did think you had kind eyes… Which means they were bit more of a pill at first.

Blake has kept everything you’ve ever given them— they have a special place within their room that they keep them all.

Something that did happen in canon is that the MC and Blake agreed to help Persephone out with her baking— Percy had to leave for a brief moment, Saraya needed something, and when she came back the kitchen was covered with flour and one of the muffin tins (that wasn’t even in the oven or had been in the oven) was on fire.
