For about a year and a half I have been dealing with the challenging process of getting rid of a parasitic fungus in my gut called Candidas Albicans. Through my research about it, I found that putting the right foods in my body is really crucial to killing it and healing myself. I found that I must avoid eating foods with sugar, artificial colours, flavourings and gluten. When I stop eating modified foods and gluten and eat natural foods, my body starts to heal and I feel a lot better. I see natural foods as a gift to humans that bring healing, nourishment and health. I have become so entranced by the power of natural foods that they have become the subject of my work. The food in my work becomes inedible which how I see many foods because of my body’s reaction to it. I strive to make objects and compositions that display nature in a way that shows off its complexity, beauty and mystery. Nature is mystifying, a source of awe and worth celebrating.
