We're off to see the Wizard!
My housemate Tia (k, I know she isn't my housemate anymore but I am still holding on) got a groupon a couple of weeks ago to see The Wizard of Oz at the Mirvish theatre downtown. It was a great deal, and something to do in an otherwise boring summer.
I headed in on the Go-Train and luckily my Nana made me bring a raincoat as boy did it rain. Tia lives near Casa Loma so I trekked it up there, but not until after I had went to the The Bay at the Eaton Centre.
I was very impressed by the changes there! They have a great selection of shoes, dresses, clothing (in a range of prices) and makeup. In fact, I basically got a makeover at Nars. I mean, apparently their lead makeup artist was there, and my face was the perfect palette. She used the new Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder in transulenct crystal and described it as a game changer. When anyone describes anything as a game changer than I know its going to be good. I have been using it the last few days and really like it! If you have oily skin like me, it keeps the shine away but still gives you a luminous look. I would definitely recommend it. I also picked up the NARS Radient Creamy concealer as I had run out
The NARS Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder- a "game-changer"
NARS Radiant Cream Concealer- I got it in Vanilla for my pasty skin
After meeting up with Tia and Chris (my other housemate), we met up with everyone else at Dos Amigos on Bathurst St. It was a very authentic Mexican place with a wide variety of margaritas, which all 8 of us really enjoyed.
Finally, it was time for the show. I know what you are thinking. How would this performance compare to my grade seven performance of Oz, where I played the cowardly lion? Yah, thats right, I was the lion and I had two solos, a dance routine and a full face of makeup. I guess being the lion was better than being the Ugly Stepsister in Cinderella in grade 5.
Me as the cowardly lion. Looking very pleased after a riveting performance.
We all really enjoyed the show. Very multi-media. Despite performing in an Oz show, I really don't remember the story all that well. I thought it ended after Dorothy and the crew got to the Wizard the first time, so it was nice to see it again.
Fun at the subway as the tinman, cowardly lion (me duh) and the scarecrow)
