travel diaries: my first solo flight

🍸｡⁠*ﾟ⁠+*⁠.⁠✧ ive been very inactive for the last two days because i went to manila, philippines as a gift to myself for making it out of my third year of architecture school with flying colors! I passed all my subjects and it's such a big deal to me because 2025 was very rough. I thought I had to take a gap year for my mental health but here I am alive and well 💌 anyway, dumping this here because I'm so in love with the interior of The Spirits Library in Poblacion, Makati. Went here yesterday on my last night in Manila and will definitely would want to explore the city more because they have a LOT of cute speakeasys (im a sucker of cute interior concepts).

Did a pobla crawl with the girlfriend.

📍Alamat Filipino Cuisine

Kicked off the night in one of my go to cocktail bars.

• Ordered Puñeta for myself. I haven't had alcohol in a while and this concoction is something that I really missed. 10/10

• Girlfriend ordered Nata and Gulaman and seemed pleased with it. Rated it a decent 8/10

• Ordered Longa fries for snacks since we plan to have dinner at a different place. Food is always good here! 9/10 because it could benefit more with a tad more spice.

📍Japonesa

A few meters walk from Alamat. This place is also one of my favorite spots.

• California Maki was a little different than what I prefer but still good. 7/10

• Salmon sushi is always a guilty pleasure. 9/10

• Tuna sashimi is also really good, I ended up eating the whole serving. Lmao. 9/10

📍Tambai Alley

Last stop is Tambai Alley. As a Tambai girl by default, I wouldn't miss a chance to bring the girlfriend here. Used to party here during my college days and cure my hangover with the pares right around the corner.

• Had Hoegaarden rosee since I only want something light. The girlfriend doesn't drink and I don't find it cool that I'm the only wasted one between the two of us lmao.

• Ordered their classic yakitori

📍Good sh*t Coffee

We were supposed to head to Kondwi but apparently they are closed on Sundays lmao so we decided to get coffee to go instead before heading home.

I like their pan de sal. Not too plain, not too small or too big, not dry at all. Probably a result of years of trial and error, and it shows.
