We are dealing with some family stuff if you didn’t see my previous post. Life has been hard at the moment. I am working on catching up on some posts today. Does anyone else feel that our choirs keep getting stripped away from us? I think the government especially the governors and mayors are taking away more and more freedom rights. This is not right. It is ethical. It is okay if you have a different opinion than me. That is what used to make America great is we were allowed to have the freedom to make our own choices. I don’t see the America we had anymore. I think people are so wrapped up in so many social issues that we aren’t paying attention to the rights that are being taken away right before your eyes. Or you may be thinking oh that is a good idea without actually looking at the big picture or seeing the liberties that are being taken. Just something to think about. Look at your government and don’t be afraid to question what is happening in the world right now. Stick up for what you believe in even if other people disagree. Don’t let someone tear you down for having a different opinion. I am seriously tired of the cancel culture for people having different opinions. If we were all the same then this would be a very boring world. People would probably still find something to fight about. The moral of the story is BE YOU. Stick up for YOURSELF. Don’t let someone change YOUR CORE. You are BEAUTIFUL. You are SMART. YOU ARE IMPORTANT. Fight for your rights and our beliefs. . . . . . . rating: 5/5 I wasn’t expecting this to be so fantastic or have as much depth as it does. The narrators for the audiobook are absolutely perfect for both sisters. One had such a great male voice that I was confused as I knew the book only featured two narrators & both were women. This is one I’ll have to mark to come back to for a more in depth review as it has so much depth to it re: topics it discusses. It’s definitely a darker world but it’s handled very deftly. I’m glad that the randomized search I did on Brooklyn Public Library’s audiobook collection via Libby for Overdrive had this one pop up & that I took a chance on it despite finding the cover somewhat cheesy & generic YA fantasy. It’s definitely more adult fantasy than YA & the cover doesn’t do the story justice at all. Read this book if you can!
