Came across a batfam au called Batfam Wing AU and felt inspired to draw my oc for the au (even though I rarely ever draw wings because I'm not too confident in drawing them)
I drew Grace in her Catgirl costume - which I redesigned for this au for some reason, I also made her hair more fluffy - but without her mask because why not. Since the creator (@plagueislost) of the au gave Bruce raven wings I thought that I'd give Grace them as well - not that she had to, but I felt like she'd have them and lie to others saying that they're actually crow wings since most people tend to not be able to tell the difference - since it felt fitting that she takes after her biological father more than she knows or even realizes.
The only people she's never lied to about her wings is Selina Kyle (it's hard to lie about it to your adoptive parent that found you lol) and Jason Todd (they're besties of course she'd never lie to him). Most people who do know the difference (which would most likely be higher since everyone has wings in this universe) wouldn't even bother calling her out since it's not that big of a deal.
Another reason why I think the raven wings fit her better is that they fit her backstory - something that I've changed so many times, but have finally found a version that I actually like. Her backstory is that she's the result of a fling Bruce had when he was young (very much unaware of this) with some girl he knew in school. Her bio mother's family had lost a lot of their fortune due to debts with the mob, which left them in a tight bind when her mother got pregnant. They were hiding out while waiting for Grace to be born - only for her mother to die upon giving birth - with the plans of using her as a way to hold off paying their debt. Though when her bio mom died her grandmother had a change of heart and stashed her in the dumpster in the alleyway before some goons of the mobster came to collect his debt (aka their lives). Grace was spared, but found by Selina after her family was killed. Selina is the one that named Grace and has raised her to the best of her abilities - which was a bit tricky, but since Selina didn't have as many enemies at the time she was able to raise her without the stress of losing her new daughter.
So yeah, harbinger of death, raven wings are fitting lol.
(also her telling Jason the truth about her wings - since the two meet when he's Robin and she's taken on the identity of Catgirl - would truly make her feel like she has to lie about her wings because she felt that him knowing is what led to his death - even though his death had nothing to do with her wings, she was just a kid that didn't know how to handle grief and blamed herself for not being there for Jason and for having raven wings)
