In 2012, we featured on our film.org Filmmaker’s Spotlight local filmmakers Graham Nolte & Tommy Stackhouse and their G-ram Films.  At that time, they were still in the fundraising phase of producing their feature film, Parallax.  Now they are screening it all over the country (with a recap of their Philly premiere here) and are set for a DVD release next month!  Our throwback post below:

Founded under the creative vision of Graham Nolte in 2007, G-ram Films is a West Chester-based film production company headed by the leadership of writer/director Graham Nolte and producer Tommy Stackhouse. From the company’s early days of “Jackass” type stunts to more modern indulgence of both situational and satirical comedy, G-ram Films has been actively creating a cult fan base since its inception at the West Chester Henderson High School video production department.

Parallax is a feature length film set to take place in the year 1987, highlighting the inception of the internet to the general public. Abbot Allen, a former Princeton professor, has a dream invention that he wishes to unleash to the world. As Abbot pushes himself to make his dream a reality, we begin to see that his sheltered life from those around him causes many setbacks in his rise to the top. With time and money running down, and a grant from the National Science Foundation on the line, will Abbot step up and make his dream a reality? Or will his inability to communicate with his team lead to his ultimate downfall?

Jon Foy - Resurrect Dead - In Jon Foy’s feature-length documentary Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of the Toynbee Tiles, strangeness is afoot. Most people don't notice the hundreds of cryptic tiled messages about resurrecting the dead that have been appearing in city streets over the past three decades. But Justin Duerr does. For years, finding an answer to this long-standing urban mystery has been his obsession. He has been collecting clues that the tiler has embedded in the streets of major cities across the U.S. and South America. But as Justin starts piecing together key events of the past, he finds a story that is more surreal than he imagined, and one that hits disturbingly close to home.

Foy is a self-taught, multi-disciplined filmmaker who specializes in editing and composing. His debut documentary Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of the Toynbee Tiles won him the 2011 Sundance Directing Award.

AMERICAN PICKERS To Film In Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania is excited to welcome Mike Wolfe, Frank Fritz and Antique Archeology to the area. The team will film episodes of their hit series AMERICAN PICKERS throughout Pennsylvania. Filming is scheduled for early August. 

AMERICAN PICKERS is a documentary series that explores the fascinating world of antique ‘picking’ on History. This hit show follows two of the most skilled pickers in the business, Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, as they embark on an epic road trip across the U.S. in search of America’s most valuable antiques from motorcycles, classic cars and bicycles to one-of-a-kind vintage memorabilia. Mike and Frank are on a mission to recycle America, restore forgotten relics to their former glory, and learn a thing or two about American history along the way.

AMERICAN PICKERS is looking for leads and would love to explore what you may have. They are on the hunt for interesting characters with interesting and unique items.  Some of what they look for: vintage bicycles, toys, unusual radios, movie memorabilia, advertising, military items, folk art, vintage musical equipment, vintage automotive items, early firefighting equipment, vintage clothing, pre-50’s western gear.

AMERICAN PICKERS is produced by Cineflix Productions for History. New episodes air Wednesdays at 9pm ET on History.

The 2nd installment in the Survival Guide to filming in Southeastern PA event series, hosted by The Greater Philadelphia Film Office, is right around the corner! This is your chance to learn from the professionals who specialize in the danger that dazzles onscreen complete with live demonstrations!  Here’s whats on our agenda: using firearms, camera drones,pyrotechnics and more, safely and legally, when you film in the Philadelphia area. Of course  Kevin Hackenberg of Get-Kinetic, Jeff Cox of No Joke Productions, Inc., Thomas J. Narolewski of Assured Partners of NJ, LLC. and Rick Kiernan, Military Technical Advisor for tv and movies will be our special guests and panelists for the evening .

We are more than excited to have “Get Kinetic” on our team for this event. This new Philadelphia based production company handles client’s corporate, promotional, and training video projects, as well as live event coverage and main stage/keynote support pieces. Not only do they perform editorial workflow management & off-site editing, but they are extremely creative!

Along with Get Kinetic, we also teamed up with “No Joke Productions” for this event. Let’s just say the name speaks for itself. They are all ready with the animatronics, puppets & makeup FX , and they even have a location in New York as well.
