California Northern Passing Cortina by lennycarl08 Via Flickr: Passing one of the dozens of grain elevators on the old SP, this GP15-1 runs long hood forward for its outbound leg, before it runs around and faces short hood forward on the way back to Woodland. I can just see a black widow GP-9 making the same run 50 years ago, the only difference being smaller tank cars and wooden boxes (oh and of course a caboose!).
