name: Gosling von Sagose
race: Tiefling (Mammon)
class: Artificer (Alchemist)
characterisation: A calm, meticulous businessman who primarily sells potions, but his services can be purchased for other jobs if the price is right. He strongly believes in the saying ‘you get what you pay for’ - he doesn’t extort people, but also rarely ever gives circumstantial discounts. In a previous lifetime, he was killed with a hellfire weapon in a money disagreement turned violent. As the low-level devil he became, with his skills, he was forced to work on the devils’ accounting. But something seemed off to him, so he started gathering evidence to make a case, hoping throwing another devil under the bus for bad calculations would get him a better position. When he went to his boss, though, he was laughed out - the oddities were in fact due to extortion on the devils’ part, and completely normal. In anger, he started making deliberate, careful mistakes to the devils’ detriment. Eventually, he slipped up and was caught; he was thrown to the material plane as a tiefling child with the promise of worse punishment on his return. He doesn’t really remember any of this, attributing any memories to childhood imagination. But his skills remained - as did his preference for fairness and correctness. He won’t get involved in small disagreements any more besides not working with or recommending them in future, but a small voice in the back of his mind tells him to fight back against those with grievous extortion and such. Whether this will lessen or prolong his punishment in the future, remains to be seen...

inspiration: Gozag Ym Sagoz we got a crawl deity, heckers! now, they don’t have any set appearance or gender, so this is mostly how I’d imagine Gozag as a character. anyway. mammon tiefling, pretty clear - the money aspect, of course. as for alchemist? well, Gozag DOES give out potions... this was a tough one to actually pick a class for, but once I remembered the potion stuff it made sense. Plus artificers would be able to do a lot of odd jobs, so. design-wise, I wanted to invoke a classical businessman. originally I was going to make the colour scheme purely black and gold, but it looked odd having so much of it, so I kept the gold to metallic accents and his natural traits. green is also often associated with money, so it works nicely here - I tried orange and red at first but they didn’t look as good to me. as for devil shenanigans, well, devil shenanigans are fun. hellfire weapon is an interesting thing that doesn’t come up much...
