Veraâs shift was finally over. That had been a particular crazy night at the hospital; knife wounds, broken legs, people who claimed to have been hit by cars but looked more like they had been under some sort of crazy form of torture. This gang war would eventually get everyone on that city killed. But this was not her problem anymore, not until her next shift. She let her hair loose as she was walking down the aisle. She was heading to the changing room when one of the other nurses tapped on her shoulder. Her work mate explained the patient at room 5 has been waiting for almost thirty minutes, but their hands were full and they hadnât had the chance to see them. Obviously what they wanted was for Vera to go and do their job. The lady tried to explain that her shift was over, and she had even clocked out, but before she could say anything, her peer had rushed to see another patient.
Vera scoffed unhappily. She was tired, all she needed now was a shower and twelve hours asleep, but at the same time she could not let someone in need unassisted. She proceeded to emergency ward once again and looked for the patient the other nurse refereed to. She tied her hair up once again, hoping this would not take long.
Room five, Vera had fount it, but when she looked for the medical record she didnât see it anywhere. Well, that was understandable, since the hospital had been awfully crowded. Yet, the sooner the patient was treated the sooner she would go home. Vera looked at them and an expression of surprised took over her washed face.
âWow, what happened to you?â
