☀Mirabel, if she lived in the world of my og story, Garden of the Never-Known Goddess☀

It is mainly a world-building and character-design exercise for myself to develop the culture of the island.

The story is simple. Instead of the miracle granting the refugees Encanto, it transported them to Bronthea's Island.

You will notice people are way healthier mentally here, and all will be explained with the respected characters.

Mirabel, for example, is not isolated from her family due to her lack of a gift, or blessing, as they would probably call it here, due to the more theistic nature of the people.

I didn't use a lot of world-building for her, but the other members of the family will have a bit more.

Btw, Kefálaio, according to Google Translate, means capital in Greek. They live in the capital of the island. To my dear Greek-speaking readers, if it doesn't make sense, please tell me about it.

Okay, so fuck the Meta business site, because it hasn't been working for weeks. This is why my posts have been late. Since I really hate the built-in upload feature of Instagram, I always went with the mentality of "let's try tomorrow."

At a moment of burnout from my final project, I NEEDED a break. This was literally created because I needed a break and wanted to draw an ID-esque picture for Videya anyways, so why not?

💚Medusa's design guide💚

As mentioned a few weeks ago, I started preparing a few more design guides, and I'm so all over the place that I decided to finish off a few of them to have some posts.

Not on one of the long lines: I want to mix the original Greek tales about Medusa and the made-to-be propaganda but way more popular Roman versions of it. I'm absolutely unsure of how that'll happen as of now, but I do want Medusa to be born a gorgon for sure and not be turned into one.

It's been so long since I drew her, and I absolutely LOVE the new design. 💕💜💕

Update on her backstory: now it's a mixture of the two different origin stories from the "canon" mythology.

She was born a gorgon, but she was also the most loyal priestess of Athena. 🦉

She wears a headscarf to cover the base of her head. She lost a few of her snakes before she became Bronthea's priestess, but lost almost the rest when the temple fell. The scares left are incredibly sensitive.

She's the only one other than Bronthea (and her plot twist spy) who leaves the island. Though Medusa never physically leaves, only spiritually.

For those unaware, modern helenistic paganism recognizes her as a deity (not to be confused with a goddess), and many people worship, and or work with her.

Now that the temple is mostly empty, she takes time out of her day to help witches and practitioners with their magic.

🍂Mother Danaye is definitely one of my personal favorites.🍂

Mother Danaye is one of Bronthea's high priestesses.

She is one of the mothers; caretakers, tasked with helping new arrivals on the island settle.

Or... at least they were.

She is also one of the immortals. Her gentle nature and understanding toward the children were what granted her this gift.

She is a sweet woman, the embodiment of motherly love. She specialized in children and adolescents and was Videya's personal caretaker as well.

It's such a shame Vee can't meet her outside of her visions.

Sadly, she is one of those characters who are no longer present at the temple.

I love how she turned out. It's incredible to see how much progress I have made in the past 1.5 years.
