Finding some practice time for a very rusty Bastarda ... using a scrap envelope, quill and iron gall ink. I don’t write broad pen styles very often – one of the reasons is I find broad pens much harder to use than pointed nibs! I also don’t like the sound and feel of broad steel nibs on paper, weirdly. I know there are lots of people who feel the same regarding pointed nibs, which is proof again of how different we all are 😁. — What is your favorite nib type for broad pen styles? I’m curious. I’m obviously into quills. — Btw I tried here for the first time the proofing text developed by @jonathanhoefler – check it out on https://www.typography.com/blog/text-for-proofing-fonts – I think it’s going to replace pangrams in my calligraphy practice 😀. :: #calligraphy #kalligrafie #kalligraphie #bastarda #gothic #gothiccalligraphy #blackletter #gothiccursive #gmundpaper #irongallink #flourishforum #federflugcalligraphy https://www.instagram.com/p/CAxIBNgKnRP/?igshid=10aegjezv0m40
